Don't own Zelda blah blah you knew that. Ok anyway...

Link was giving his daughter her bath one evening when an unexpected moment occurred.

"Daddy?"

"Mmhm?"

"Where do babies come from?"

Link's heart skipped a beat and he stopped what he was doing for a second. The question dreaded by all parents. Everyone told him at least one of his children would ask; it was like a rule. Every parent has to come up with their answer to the question. He knew this would happen... He just didn't expect the child to be so young. He resumed bathing the child and spoke again.

"Well what is it you mean by that?" He asked, trying to find out exactly how much she wanted to know, so as to not say too much.

"How does the baby get into the Mommy's tummy? Who put it there? And what does it do in there?" She asked, as if she was asking about a favorite color. Link took a deep breath, trying to relax his thumping heart, before giving his answer.

"Well," he breathed "all girls have special seeds inside of their tummys-"

"How do the seeds get inside there?" She asked, poking her belly

"They're there when you're born. the Goddesses put them inside you." He replied. He lifted her out of the tub, wrapped a towel around her, and drained the tub. He then got back to the explanation. "And when a Mommy and Daddy want to have a baby, they pray to the Goddesses really hard. And if they pray hard enough, the Goddesses will make the seeds in the Mommy's tummy grow. That's what it's doing in there, it's growing until it becomes a whole baby." Link then got another towel and began to dry off her hair with it.

"Are they like flower seeds?" she asked.

"Well, in a way" Link laughed. "They grow like flower seeds, from something very small and hard to see, into something big and beautiful, with many small steps in between. Like a flower will first grow roots then a stem then leaves and so on, the kind of seed that grows a baby grows slowly, part by part; arms, legs, fingers and toes." By this point Link had finished drying her off, and carried her to her bedroom (still in the towel).

"Can I see a baby seed?" She asked standing behind her father as he went into the drawer to take out a pair of PJs for the child. He began to dress her for bed.

"No, the only place you can find them is inside a girl, and they're microscopic, which means that they're so small that you can't even see them." He sat her down on her bed, sat next to her, and began to gently brush through her hair with a comb to get out any knots.

"Wow." She said with amazement.

"Yeah," he said with a smile "it's something, isn't it?"

"Yeah! It's almost like magic!" Link let out a chuckle at this, finishing his job and putting his hand on his daughter's cheek as she looked up at him with awe.

"Almost. More like a miracle." He said with a smile. "Alright, time for bed, my little miracle."

Annabelle got under her covers and her father sat on the edge of the bed, gently brushing his hand across her forehead.

She looked up at him, a questioning expression in her eyes.

"Daddy?" She asked quietly

"Yes, Pumpkin?"

"Are you and Mommy praying for a baby?" Link looked into his child's eyes and smiled.

"Yes, we are." He said gently.

"Can I pray for it too?" she asked

Link smiled and kissed her forehead.

"That would be lovely. Thank you." He said, his heart full of love for his child.
