Author's Note: Here's a better Valentine's story than "A Valentine's Loss." I hope you like it. :)
-------
Until the day she met with him,
His life was black and white;
A simple smile was all it took,
And nothing felt more right.
The dullness of the days before
Just faded into bliss;
His longing for the perfect girl
Was filled with just one kiss.
The two held hands so happily
And kissed 'most everyday;
The understanding between them
Was not something you could say.
The couple soon prepared themselves
For the day of valentines;
Since the fourteenth was approaching fast
And neither had said "be mine."
He tried so hard to ask her to
Be only his that day,
But she was asked by other ones
And no was hard to say.
On Valentine's, the boy was met
At the spot by the girl he loved--
She shone radiantly, her smile so bright,
Like an angel from above.
But she told him that her date there was
Yet another boy;
And he was sadly turned right down
Like a outgrown, simple toy.
The girl danced with her other date
And felt no sparks ignite.
The conversations shared with him
Seemed so far less than right.
The other boy left her alone,
Without a friend or foe.
But the first boy came, and all was fixed
As they danced and let all go.
And in their secret place, they kissed,
Under the silent stars;
Yet soaring up high to the places beyond,
Where only love and blessings are.
She colored his world with her chocolate curls
And her kindness and brilliant smile.
They lived with love, and they lived well--
So love made their lives worthwhile.
