"You are NOT fucking serious."
Michael glared intensely at the man ahead of him, who seemed too busy making his best pleading face to notice the harsh look he gave him. Gavin looked almost petrified, and continued to whimper up to his boy like an abandoned dog.
It was around midnight, and just as Michael had softly drifted into the realm of sleep, whining from the side of him had dragged him back into reality. Michael, still have asleep, rubbed his face. "And why do I need to walk you to the bathroom? It's just across the hall."
Gavin wasn't about to take in any of the other's reasonings. "PLEASE, Mi-coo!" Gavin clutched the Jersey man's arm and leaned towards him to whisper. "What if there is an axe murderer in the hallway?" Gav squealed more loudly than was necessary, and flinched instinctively at the thought alone.
Michael just woke up from a very short rest, and thus was in no mood to even try to question the logic behind any of this, and gave in. He stood up with a grumble, and frowned at how elated the brit beside him was as a result.
Gav strolled out the door, pulling Michael behind him. After hitting a shelf with his unevenly stepping foot and cursing aloud, he wondered why he even bothered coming. He was fine, it's not like he dragged Geoff out of his room to bring him to the bathroom back when they didn't live together, did he?
It didn't take long to reach the room. Michael sat boredly in the hallway after Gavin insisted he checked the shower curtains for murderers. Suddenly, the peaceful silence of the house was shattered as the bathroom door swung around.
"MIIIIII-COOOOOO-Oh, there you are." Gavin's panicked expression faded when he saw his boyfriend's face, a face of sudden shock. "Fuckin' christ, Gavin. That scared the ever-loving SHIT outta me." Michael murmured, still rushed with adrenaline.
Despite the previous action, Gavin smiled sweetly. "I was just making sure you were there, m'boy." The pair departed for the halls again.
When they returned to the bedroom, Michael was still evidently upset. "Are you gonna do that every time you have to go to the bathroom at night?" Gavin simply leaned back. "Maybe..." He trailed off.
Gavin flipped over and wrapped an arm around Michael, the other one searching for Michael's own hand. When they met, the fingers intertwined. A warm feeling came from Michael's grip. Slowly, Gavin tilted closer to the other man, and laid a tender kiss on his cheek. "Are you going to be angry if I were to do the same tomorrow?" Michael giggled, and shifted closer so that their chests pressed one another. The hypnotic feeling of peace that came from feeling Gavin's chest rise and fall was simply alluring. "Nah, Mogar'll keep you safe. Don't want any murderers behind curtains even touching my boy."
"Thank you, Micoo." Gavin's eyes slid closed, but a slim smile remained on his face.
Michael couldn't help but return the grin. "I'll always keep you safe, no matter what."
