So. This little thing came to me at a Girl Scout camp, so I wrote it down in a notebook and didn't respond to any of my friends - PJO fans or not - until I was done. Then a PJO friend read it and she liked it, so ta-da! Here it is. This was written before I read the BoO, so please just assume that Jason stayed a leader of Rome.

Disclaimer:

Me: Unfortunately, I do not own PJO/HoO.

Rick: I do!

Me: Don't gloat, Rick.

Annabeth, Percy, Reyna, Jason, and Piper sat in a small cabin in the snowy mountains with only each other for company.

I curled my fingers around my cup of tea, hoping it would warm my frozen body. I was from California - we didn't have much of a winter, and Camp Half-Blood was almost always warm. I looked at the others around the table. Reyna was also holding her cup tightly, although she had hot chocolate instead of tea. She was from Puerto Rico; of course she was cold. Annabeth swirled the spoon of her tea and gripped her sword tightly. She didn't look cold at all, which was strange. She had spent most of her life in Camp Half-Blood after all. Percy also didn't look cold, although that might have been due to the fact that he and Annabeth were currently cuddling. Jason was the only one missing. I found myself looking at the stairwell, wanting him to walk out, fresh from a good night's sleep. Finally, he did.

"Hey, Sparky!" I called waving my hand over to him. He smiled and sat down.

When I turned back to the table, I saw that Annabeth had a sad expression, though she was smiling.

"Are you okay?" Reyna asked, noting Annabeth's expression. She was a lot less rough when she was with us.

Annabeth sighed but nodded. "I'm just remembering."

We all looked at each other before turning excitedly to Annabeth. We all knew that she had an interesting past; she had been in the the demigod world for ten years. After Jason, she had been in this crazy demigod world longest. We were all eager for a story.

Annabeth raised her eyebrows at all our eager faces. "When I was running with Thalia and L-Luke, we used to call Thalia Sparky. I guess... I guess I still miss him," she said, looking down.

Percy lifted her chin so she was looking at him, and then he kissed her.

I opened my mouth to comment, but Jason gave me a look. I sighed. Being a daughter of Aphrodite is hard.

"What did you call Luke? And what did they call you?" Jason asked, tilting his head to one side.

"We called Luke Daddy's Boy, because he hated it and he had a lot of the same skills as Hermes," Annabeth said, lost in memory.

"And what did they call you, WiseGirl?" Percy teased. Annabeth smiled fondly at him.

Reyna coughed, and everyone laughed.

"Well?" I asked. Annabeth sighed.

"They just called me Annie."

Later, I was sitting the the living room with Jason, Percy and Reyna. Annabeth was upstairs, claiming she wanted some time to read a book without 'you un-educational people'.

Percy was staring thoughtfully at the wall. (Don't hurt yourself there, Percy.)

"So that's why," he said after a bit.

"What?" Jason asked.

"Why Annabeth doesn't like to be called Annie. She's remembering." Everyone nodded.

"Well, now we know why she glares at us when we call her Annie," I offered.

"A way not to be killed. Hip, hip, hooray!" Percy muttered. Everyone laughed.

When Annabeth came down, Percy, Jason, Piper and Reyna were still laughing and grinning. As a daughter of Athena, she knew why. But she didn't say anything. Instead, she walked over to spent some time with her new family, and her something permanent. Something to last a thousand years.
