Simba walked through the lush green grass with a cub Kiara trailing behind him. He was angry, worried and disappointed in his young daughter for she deliberately disobeyed him. The large golden male stopped and sat on his haunches before calling his golden/cream cub over to him in a stern, commanding voice.
"Kiara!" The lioness cub walked slowly over to her father with her ears drooped and head hung low. She then sat beside him, looking up at him with a guilty expression on her face. Simba looked down at Kiara and frowned.
"I want to know just what you thought you were doing to today. You deliberately disobeyed me and that's not even the worst part. You could have died!," Simba scolded.
"I-I'm sorry I disobeyed you…," Kiara cried.
"I'm telling you this because you mean the world to me. If something happened to you, your mother and I…would be devastated.," Simba told her gently, giving her a nuzzle.
"I love you too daddy.,"Kiara said, returning his nuzzle.
"When I was a cub, I almost got myself and your mother killed. I lied to your grandmother and your grandfather had to save me. He was furious and I felt awful for all the bad things I did that day. He wasn't mad for long though. He told me how much he and your grandmother loved me and from then on, I never wanted to disappoint him again.," Simba said, reminiscing.
"Really?," the female cub asked in awe.
"Mm hm.," the male nodded as he pushed his daughter gently off of a rock on which she had been sitting. Simba then began to sing to Kiara, a song about being connected in the great circle of life.
