"Talon!"

I looked up from the picture I was (poorly) drawing, to see Seth standing in the doorway.

"C'mon! The Pack's waiting!"

"Where are we going? I mean, Sam left earlier but he told me to stay here."

"Well, he said all of the pack had to be there. And told me to come get you. So I guess it's important."

"Ok…by the way," I asked, holding up the picture I had been drawing of Sam, "do you think it's good?"

"Uh…well…Sam's head isn't that big…but otherwise, it's good."

I set the picture down, and walked out the door with Seth. "Sure it's good."

"It IS! And by the way, have you gotten taller?" I was almost as tall as Seth now, being only a little bit younger than him. Which makes me the youngest in the Pack.

"Maybe you've gotten shorter." I teased, and he blushed.

Seth and I shifted, and ran into the forest.

We finally got to the Pack's meeting place - A flood plain not too far from La Push.

Sam seemed on edge and nervous. On edge is normal for Sam. Nervous? Not so much.

Seth. Talon. So we're all here. Sam acknowledged us. I noticed Paul wasn't there, but didn't think much of it. The reason I've told you to all come here is Paul was attacked near the border today.

There was a collective intake of air from the Pack.

The Cullens? Quil asked.

No. Sam replied. The scent was all wrong.

And, Jacob added, they wouldn't have trespassed.

But who else would attack us? Embry questioned.

Maybe some nomadic vampires just looking for a fight, Leah suggested.

Whatever the reason, just keep an eye out. Sam said.

How's Paul? Seth asked.

Doing good, so far. He just got bruised up a little bit. Sam growled. Now get back to whatever you were doing.

After I went back home and put on another outfit, I decided to stick with Seth.

"Well, I'm bored…" I sighed.

"Why don't we go check on Paul?"

"Good idea." We walked slowly to Paul's and knocked on the door.

Paul opened it, a big purple bruise stretching across his face. "You two…well, what is it?"

I winced. "We just wanted to see how you were doing."

"Yeah, well, I got hit in the face. Big deal."

"By what?" Seth inquired.

"A bloodsucker." Paul hissed. "Now get outta here."

Paul slammed the door in our faces and we turned around, walking down his driveway.

"He's kinda…sensitive, eh?" I laughed.

"Seems like it." Seth said.

"Yeah, want to take a run?"

Seth nodded, and we morphed.

Where to? I asked.

Seth 'shrugged' (as much as you can in wolf form). I brushed my pelt up against his.

Tag, you're it. I said, and ran ahead of him.

We had probably been running for about an hour when I lost his scent. I sat down by a tree, panting. I had lost him, I thought. I could get a breather.

All of a sudden, another scent caught my nose.

Next thing I knew, something tackled me, and I blacked out.
