The Little Photo Album in Her Mind

It takes just a click and a snapping of a shutter.
This unmemorable time of theirs is remembered forever
in this little photo-album in her mind because there's no-where else
for such photos to go. She doesn't even know
if they'd have lived, now that the world has changed.
This thing, this game, this battle –
it's like the world's forgot.

But she remembers. Only she remembers
because even those who've got their wish or lost them
only to be given a second chance only know that something's happened;
they don't know what, and she doesn't tell.

She only looks over her shoulder, looking for faces to match
the ones in that little photo-album in her mind
and sometimes she wishes she had a real photo instead
because it's so easy to wonder if they're really truly there.
'I'm looking for someone,' she says when someone asks.
'Their names? Tama, and Yuki.' Or Shiro and Kuro as Mayu said
or maybe it's Mayu she'll see. She doesn't know. But she's got
portrait shots of all of them in her mind, just in case,
and in poster-size as well.

It takes just a click and a snapping of a shutter. If only she really had those
to show the others, to help her look, to help her believe
but all she's got in the little-photo album in her mind; enough
for her and her alone.
