You aren't the real Roy Harper.
You aren't Roy Harper.
You aren't real.
You're just a fake, a clone with someone else's memories jammed into your skull, you're no one.
You don't want to believe it, a small part of you still refuses to, but you know it's true and you hate that. You hate they you're not Roy Harper, former Speedy to Green Arrow. You hate Cadmus for making you think that you were and then taking it away from you.
Your head is swimming and you're only vaguely aware that you're answering questions. You can remember so much: the first time you held a bow in your hands, the first time you meant Ollie, the first time you went out as Speedy, and the first time you met your fellow sidekicks, you're best friends.
Except they're not your friends, not really. And you weren't Green Arrows sidekick.
You know what you have to do: you have to find the real Roy Harper. You can't imagine what it must have been like for him to be kidnapped and cloned and then be locked up somewhere for three years. You have to rescue him and reunite him with everyone or if he's dead, which is a likely possibility, you get him a proper burial. You owe him that much.
As the meeting breaks up, you don't meet anyone's eyes, especially Ollie's. You can only imagine what he's thinking: no wonder you turned on him, you weren't the real Roy, the real Roy would never have stormed off or gone rogue. The real Roy was definitely a much better sidekick than you ever were.
It's time for you to leave and start your search: the sooner you find Roy the happier everyone will be. You try and get away unnoticed but before you're even halfway to the transporters, a pair of arms grab you and pull you into a hug. You stiffen and the person realizes it and lets you go.
It's Dinah. She's standing with her arms crossed and smiling sadly at you.
"Did you think you could just sneak out without saying goodbye? You should know better, Roy."
"I'm not," you can't quite make yourself say the rest of the sentence.
"Do you remember when we first met?" She waves a hand to silence you when you're about to protest that it wasn't him that wasn't you back then. "You didn't really like me. You were scared that Ollie wouldn't spend as much time with you now that he met me. Do you remember what I told you? That I wasn't trying to take Green Arrow away from you and that you were just getting-"
"Another person who was going to watch my back, no matter what." Your voice cracks a little as you finish and you hope that she hasn't noticed that or the way your eyes start to tear up a little.
She places a hand on your arm.
"You look like Roy, you have his memories, you act like him. You're real enough for me."
You can't speak, you have no idea what to say.
"I'm not going to stop you from leaving, Roy. But you better keep in contact with the League or the team. Or, I'll just have to hunt you down and drag your sorry ass back."
Dinah did always know what to say to make you feel better.
