I watched a certain movie the other day... :)

/Belker

You watch him as he snaps his phone shut.

"We're on", he says and drops the funny act - you can tell immediately. His jaw clenches and just like that he's not Jovial Tony anymore. He puts the car in gear, with mechanical, efficient moves, and it roars down the road. The smell of burning rubber is lingering for a good long time.

When he isn't pretending, when he's utterly serious like now (and there is no doubt whatsoever that this situation has nothing comical about it), his smile and sparkling eyes will fade, like someone dims the light on them. He doesn't move a muscle, shows no emotion and his eyes could've been carved out of the emerald they resemble. His features show no real resemblance to his office face and there is no cloak to replace it.

You watch him out of the corner of your eye, wondering when - or if - you will ever get used to it.

He never shows fear and you mull over that fact. He's either very brave or very stupid, and you know for a fact that he's no fool.

The car is brought into a sharp turn and he doesn't even flinch at the force this produces on you both. You don't have that kind of stomach and hang on for dear life. He casts a glance in the rearview mirror to make sure the car he overtook has made it safely to the ditch, then turns his hardened gaze to the road again and pushes the car to its limits. You wonder where he learned to drive a car like this.

"Call Gibbs." His calm, detached voice brings you out of your reverie and you study him now in profile. His chiseled jaw, the relaxed posture. Total focus on the job at hand.

You wonder for a moment if you ought to tell him that he is the spitting image of his admired James Bond, but you decide against it.

His ego would never deflate after that. Never.

The End

Who do you picture in the car with Tony? I was thinking Kate, maybe Ziva, but I don't know
