It rained.

"So… he was the Ninja?"

He didn't answer, biting his lip.

"I'm… I'm sorry." She wasn't sure what to say, licking her lips and opening her mouth again, only to close it and opt to wait for him.

There was a thick lump in his throat. What could he say?

"I-Is there anything I can do?" She wanted to help him… she wanted to take away his sadness.

He breathed in. "No… Thank you."

"Are you su-"

"I'm positive! My best friend is gone! Leave me alone- what can you-"

And he was sobbing.

His sister enveloped him in a tight hug, letting him cry into her shoulder.

"Howard, I'm sorry.."

"He… He could do anything. He destroyed robots- he destroyed the sorcerer…" Howard sobbed, "But, a stupid car and he's gone…"

Heidi's shirt was getting soaked, but she couldn't tell, her own eyes getting blurry.

"Cunningham… Randy was my best friend… Sometimes I felt like he was my only family." He pulled away, looking into her eyes.

"We did everything we could together- but one… one lousy trip to the honkin' doctor and he's… he's gone. My best friend… gone."

He didn't cry anymore- he couldn't.

And it continued raining.

I'm sad so I wanted to write something sad.
