A New Life

Chapter 1

A Few Screws Loose

The weather outside was warm and sunny. The only breeze was the air forced through and blown out of the airplane's turbines. The din was from the engines was deafening and almost unbearable as the group of four began boarding the private plane named "The Safe Haven".

The name, "Safe Haven", was applied to the airplane when they were younger, because that is where the group of four would go to, and fly to other countries, when they wanted to escape their problems. They felt safe in the plane.

As they boarded the plane, the seventeen year old stopped and waved at his family. It would be the last time any of them saw their families for a long time. They were going to be gone for an entire month.

The group of four took their seats and readied themselves for not only the flight, but also the dispute on what country they would go to this time.

Skully, who was seventeen, usually an optimist, and smiled through the worst of times, suggested they go to Ireland.

Starr who was fifteen, full of himself, and a jokester, suggested they go to Germany.

Mouryu, who was eighteen, usually a pessimist, and careless, suggested they go to Japan.

Snow, who was sixteen, blind, and a bit cruel, suggested they go to Canada.

They all argues for a good five minutes before Skully stood up and shushed everyone. "We only have one girl in our group and that's Snow. I say she gets to pick which country we go to", he said with a genuine smile and then continued, "After all, I'm the leader. This is my plane." He looked at Mouryu and Starr who appeared disappointed. Even Skully was disappointed. He'd heard that Ireland was beautiful. "Okay. We'll visit all four countries. We will only be able to stay in each country for a week though", he said hoping that would be an acceptable agreement.

Everyone nodded agreeing to the plan.

With the plan set, Skully set the airplane on auto-fly to Canada.

Since they all lived in Hawaii, it would be a while before they got there.

They all took their seats and buckled their seat belts as the plane began its course down the runway.

As the plane ascended, a few screws hit the tarmac.
