She is waiting for a sunrise that will never come.
In this world there is no night or day, or morning or evening; she sleeps when she likes and wakes when she wishes, for only her rules exist here. She is the absolute power of this world, the center of its own miniature solar system.
Sometimes she plays house with the dolls.
They are her siblings, and Red Eyes is her mother. She will draw a scene of clouds and grass and sun and tape it on a wall to be a window. When she does this she can almost forget that she's trapped here, can pretend that she's in the outside world. The dolls always draw her away from this illusion, though; their blue skin is too unnatural, button eyes too lifeless.
The dolls get mad, though, when she makes friends.
"Garry is no good," they say to her, "he's too old!"
"What about Ib?" she counters; Garry doesn't interest her much anyhow.
"Don't trust her, Mary! Silly Mary will get hurt!"
She doesn't listen then, blonde hair billowing behind her as she leaves the room to a chant of "Silly Mary!"
She and Ib can be friends together, she thinks.
The other girl interests her immensely. Her eyes are red, and her hair is a pretty and shiny brown. Ib is, in short, very pretty to her, the girl who has seen nothing but herself since her own birth. She does not like Garry, though; he likes Ib too much and doesn't trust her enough. He is a problem, she thinks.
The vines are, of course, her doing.
She separates Ib from Garry on purpose; they are getting too close for her liking. Ib is her friend, and Garry cannot have her. Of course Ib would end up stranded with her and not Garry; the gallery responds to her every whim and fancy and no one else can stop her.
Being alone with Ib makes her happy. The other girl is rather silent (although she does comment on the unusual choice of a palette knife as a weapon) but the company is nice. She has been alone her whole life; having someone with her makes everything seem that much brighter and better.
When they finally find Garry again, they first hear him talking. Odd, considering they were the only humans there. Curiously they go up to the room where his voice is coming from. Ib opens the door and inside sits Garry, talking to the dolls. She watches the other girl try to snap him out of it, but she fails. The brunette collapses in a heap beside the purple-haired man.
"Ib?" she says.
"Ib, you promised we'd leave together! Come on, get up!"
She doesn't get up.
She sighs and leaves the room. Better off without the weak. As she walks alone, she thinks.
'Ib was my friend, though...'
So she turns around, runs back into the room, and calls her friends to join them. The Ladies in Red and Yellow and Green, the dolls and of course Red Eyes, and even the mannequins.
All is well in the world of Guertena.
