It was that time of the year. The biggest event everyone -minus the districts- celebrated in Panem. Today, they will read the card, which holds the sickening twist that will be made in this year's games.
Caesar Flickerman and the camera crew were already there, setting up for the big announcement that will change many lives. They had set it up on the balcony, in which Snow will present to the citizens below, anxious to see what will happen to the District Rats. Impatient, they started to chant, "Read the card!" or "President Snow." One person even went as far to put a sign that said, "President Snow, he's my hoe!" Of course, the peacekeepers took him and he is now getting beaten. Finally, after some time, out came Caesar.
"Now, here to read this year's Quarter Quell card, President Snow!" Caesar yelled into the mic. A pandemonium of cheers broke throughout the crowd. President Snow stepped forward and took the little black box in his hands. Slowly, but surely, he opens the box and pulls out the card. The card that will determine the cruel and unusual ways innocent people will die.
"On the 100th anniversary of our beloved games, to prove that everyone is equal, and not everyone is innocent, we shall grab out two names. One from the citizens of the Districts, and the other from the citizens of the Capitol." Snow said with a slight smirk. Gasps and boos came from a majority of the crowd.
"But," he continued, not liking what he has to read, "two are allowed to live." And with that, he turned on his heel and marched towards the doors.
Let the Fourth Quarter Quell begin.
