A/N: I wrote this two years ago for a drabble "Love Like Winter" contest on the Kindred forums. It had to be precisely 100 words, so don't blame me for brevity! :P I think it's cheesy, but here it is.
His Reason
The others came of their reasons and in so left. He stayed for her. She wept in the night for a lack of understanding. He wept as she slept because he knew why.
There were nights she could not sleep. "Why?" She did not avert her gaze from his while her hand nervously traced circles in the gap of ice between them. It never seemed to dissolve.
"Hn, you're soft." A snowflake chose its final destination on his cheek. She watched him intently. These words were inevitable. "For you." The snowflake melted.
Love like winter melts away, uncovering something beautiful.
