Elle heart Arthur: One Month Before

"Go!"

The gun shot echoed throughout the field and I sprinted my way through it. I could hear people yelling in the background, but they were all shouts to me.

The wind was blowing through my face making a whoosh sound. I could feel the finish line on the tip of my fingers.

I heard the crowd leap in one big, "Yeah!"

I did it! I won for Avalon High.

And the best part?

Will ran towards me and lifted me up. My other friends, Jennifer and Lance, came by our side as well and congratulated me. "You did it!" they yelled. "I can't believe you did it!"

&

"That was amazing." Will said as we walked down the bicycle path in the park. We occasionally like to do this so we could dash the bicycles that were coming our way. It was our little amusement, but at this time there weren't many bicyclists at the park. So Will and I had even more attention to each other. "You ran amazingly fast."

I laughed. Yup, I'm that good. "Well, what can I say, I could beat you in a race like that." I snapped my fingers and smiled at him.

He chuckled. "No, you couldn't." he said grinning from ear to ear.

"You said it yourself, I run amazingly fast." I skipped ahead of him and then turned to smile at him.

He had a look of amusement in his face. "OK. Fine. You're on!" He pushed me jokingly like he was so tough.

"Serious? You actually want to race me? The champion of track in Avalon High?" I said confidently.

He pretended to think about. "Um. Yeah, I do." He started to stretch near the trees as I bent my fingers. He grabbed a branch and drew a line in the pathway. "Starting here, all the way to the boulder." I knew which boulder he was talking about. It was the boulder where everything happened. Where I first saw him, where Marco was about to kill him, but most importantly . . .

Where we first kissed.

"OK. On your mark. Get set. Go!"

I sprinted down fast like I did in the race earlier. I looked back at Will, who was clearly having trouble keeping up. And he's suppose to be on the football team! Captain, even.

I snickered. I was winning. I could see the boulder in its regular size. I told him he couldn't--

Will grabbed me and set me down behind him. "Ha ha!" he yelled as he leaped onto the boulder and sat there grinning. "I won! I won!"

"You won the cheat-a-thon." I said reaching the boulder and smiling at him.

"What did the winner get?" he said as he lifted me up to him. I held his cheek as I kissed him. When I looked up at him, his eyes were still closed. "Now that beats any gold medal I received."

I laughed then punched him in the shoulder. "You cheated! You know I won!"

"Then why did I reach the boulder first, hm?"

"Cheater." I repeated. I kissed him again.

"You guys need to get a room." I heard a voice said behind me. I looked back and it was Jennifer and Lance. "Instead of making out on a stupid rock." she said jokingly.

I got down from the boulder. "Hey, what brings you guys here?"

Lance started to swing from a tree branch. "Did you forget? It's salad bar night."

Oh yeah! I totally forgot! Will and Lance have this special hang out where they celebrate their football glories and all that. And they were suppose to meet up today to warm up for the game on Friday.

Aw . . . I wanted to spend more time with Will. So not fair.

"Maybe Elle and Jennifer could come along." Will said as he grabbed my waist.

"Girls aren't allowed in our hangout." Lance said as he got off from the branch.

"Girls aren't allowed in our hangout." Jennifer mocked in a baby's voice. She grabbed Lance's hand. "Come on, we're going."

&

The hangout was dark and there were your occasional television sets hanging in the corner with a football game on.

"This place's a bar?" I asked Will.

"Nah." he answered noticing people from his team in a corner booth. "Just your regular wannabes drinking iced tea."

I looked at Jennifer as Will let go of my hand to greet his teammates. "Somehow, I think Lance was right when he said that girls aren't allowed. What do you think we could do here?"

"I don't know." she answered as she sat down to a table next to their large booth. "But, I only came because I didn't want to be alone. I mean if you haven't noticed, Lance hasn't done anything besides talk about his football games, or practice for his football games, or hang out with his football people--and all I hear is football this, and football that. I'm going out of my freaking mind!"

"But, doesn't hanging out in a football place with Lance's football team just wanna burst your mind out?" I looked over at Will and he was slapping his teammate on the head.

"Tell me about it!" Jennifer rolled her eyes. "But, at least I'm with Lance where he could actually talk about football at a place where he should. And I'm with you! You're sharing my same pain here, right? So, it isn't that bad."

"Actually, Will hasn't talked to me about football now that we're together. Come to think about it, he isn't that arrogant in his playoffs."

"Really? When Will and I were together, he couldn't stop talking about anything else!"

"Well, that was because you and Will were about to break up." I reminded her. Leading her to cheat on Will . . .

"Oh my God." Jennifer dropped her menu on the table. "You're so right! When Will and I had absolutely no spark in our relationship, he started to talk about something else . . . and now Lance's doing the same!"

Oh no. I think I may have said the wrong thing here. "Oh no, Jennifer. You and Lance are fine! I bet he's just excited about the game on Friday, that's all."

She covered her face with her small, polished hands. "No, no! He's going to break up with me, I know it!" she started to cry.

Oh, no. Please, please don't cry! I sat down to a seat next to her and patted her on the shoulder. "Don't cry, Jennifer. Please! I told you, Lance is not going to break up with you! He's just excited that's all. Nothing to worry about, really. Trust me, I've seen bad relationships." I didn't really, but I needed to comfort her some how. "And you guys are not one of them."

She looked up at me, her eyes red. "Are y-you sure?"

"Positive." I said.

She sighed and hugged me. "Aw, thanks Elle. Will's so lucky to have you."

And I'm so lucky to have him, I thought as I smiled and hugged her back.

It was getting late. My parents are probably gonna take me out on a victory dinner or something. They're always there to do that!

The football team-people were going out one by one, until it was only Will and Lance left.

"Hey you." Will said as he grabbed both of my hands. "I'm honest to say that it's a relief touching a gentle hand here. You can't believe hanging out with twenty guys who drank too much iced tea."

I laughed then looked behind him. Jennifer must of told Lance how she felt, and they ended up hugging each other. Sweet.

I looked up at Will. "I probably should be getting home now. I'll see you at the game tomorrow?"

"Sure." Will pulled me close to him and kissed me. "I guess I didn't get much of the champion today, did I? Sorry!"

"It's OK." I said looking at Jennifer. "Me and Jennifer got talking, and it was really nice."

"What did you guys talk about?" he asked.

"Oh . . . just some girl talk."

"I'd rather hear that than Robert burping his brains out." he laughed. I got on my tip toes and kissed him on the cheek.

Stomp stomp. "Excalibur!" stomp stomp. "Excalibur!"

Stomp stomp. "Excalibur!" stomp stomp.

The crowds were cheering as Will gave plans for the final half of the game. We were winning against Bayside. 2 to 1.

I looked over to Stacy. "You think Jennifer and Lance are OK?"

She looked at me. "Of course, why wouldn't they? Next to you and Will, they're the perfect couple! But nothing can stand against you and Will." she smiled.

I looked at Will as he caught the ball and ran towards touchdown.

Go Will! Go Will!

Will slid onto the ground as he was tackled down by five Bayside people.

Touchdown!

The crowd cheered as everyone jumped up! Our team ran towards Will as he stood up and was tackled down by our team.

I high-fived Stacy as I jumped up in excitement. Our school's unbeatable.

I looked back at Will and he was running towards the bleachers. Stacy nudged me. "He's coming for you!"

I looked at him as he climbed up the stairs and lifted me up. "We did it!" he smiled. I took off his helmet and kissed him hard as he lifted my up. I was so happy for him.

I lifted my head and spot a girl looking at us. She was glaring and folded her arms and I could see her necklace as it said; Jessica. She half smiled--not in a good way, I would guess--as she flipped her long blond hair and walked out. Someone from Bayside, I would guess.

I looked down at Will and kissed him again.

We were so happy together.

Author'sNote:I wrote this because I was tired of Will and Elle not being together. So I wrote one short story about a happy time and Will and Elle's life. I hope you enjoyed it, and don't forget to tell me what you think! By the way, this happened before Elle heart Arthur. So if you didn't get it, you should probably read it, to understand. Thanks!
