My name is Emma Rose. But many know me as Black Lion, an infamous assassin. It all started when my parents died in the field by S.H.I.E.L.D. My friend, and partner in crime, Valeska, but I call her Val, parents died the same way a few days earlier. Both of our parents were field agents in the spy organization call HYDRA. Sure, they were not the nicest people in the world but there still my parents. Val and I lost it after that. We partnered up; Val becoming the brains of the group, since was way smarter than me in science and math, and I becoming the brawn of the group, since I was trained by parents to be a lethal at an early age. We started to take jobs to steal from or assassinate people. Val and I also started to attack S.H.I.E.L.D. From stealing from the killing S.H.I.E.L.D. leaders. This was when I was 14 years old, Val being a year older than me. We did this for about a year until S.H.I.E.L.D. fell. Of course, knowing S.H.I.E.L.D., it didn't fall fully. Of course, I gave them grief. And we eventually became world renowned as the Worlds Most Wanted assassin. And we were on everyone's kill list except HYDRA of course. Until today, no one has ever seen us.
Val and I were sitting in Taco Bell, minding our own business, eating some very delicious Tacos, when a young woman, around her late twenties, followed by a very tall, handsome, man around his early twenties, maybe nineteen, walk in. They scanned the fast food place till the spotted us, in the very far corner of the restaurant, sitting in a booth. They paused for a brief moment, and walked over to us. The woman sat next to me and the dude sat next to Val. I eyed Val for a moment before nodding. We already made a plan a while ago if this happened. Val would run away no matter what and I would stay and fight. Val was the closest thing I had to a sister and I can NOT lose her. I literally never take her missions out of fear she might get hurt or captured. My trance was broken when the lady talked "Are you Emma Rose?" My eyes widened upon hearing that name and stopped mid crunch. No one knows my name besides Val. They must've seen my reaction since she continued by saying "You two need to come with us." Val and I cocked an eyebrow at that sentence. My mother always said my mouth would get me in trouble. She was right. "Come on! I just want peace and quiet while I eat but no. You S.H.I.E.L.D. asses have to come and ruin that!" Now the whole restaurant was looking at us. Val just glared at me which said now you've done it. I smirk tugged at my lips just as the lady sitting next me punched me in the face. Half expecting that, I kicked her in the gut forcing her out of booth. Out of the corner of my eye I can see Val, screaming, being dragged off by the tall dude. I completely lost it. My body felt like it was melting. I could fell the water inside my body as it flowed through my blood. I closed my eyes as I felt if water was rising in the air and I was controlling it. A perking pain shot through my head. I could I was consumed by the darkness that is sleep.
