Behind those emerald eyes
Chapter 1: The life of a genius.
Jimmy Neutron sat with his dog Goddard on a recliner in his living room, looking out a window. Jimmy was looking at his rival/long time crush Cindy Vortex, who currently sat on her porch, drinking lemonade, and talking to her best friend, Libby Folfax. They looked happy. Jimmy sighed. It had been a long time since he had friends that he could talk to, besides Goddard. He had two best friends, Carl Wheezer and Sheen Estavez, until the accident.
Flashback
Jimmy, Carl and Sheen were in Jimmy's hovercar, driving to Mcspanky's burger joint, when suddenly, the hover car's engine malfunctioned. Jimmy, whose hovercar was high in the air, told Carl and Sheen to assume their crash positions. Of course, Carl and Sheen, being themselves, didn't know how to properly assume crash positions, so when the hovercar crashed, they got seriously hurt. Jimmy however, didn't know this because upon impact, he fell unconscious. He woke up in a hospital 3 days later. Cindy, Libby and his parents were by his bedside. When he woke up, he saw relief in their faces, but when he asked about Carl and Sheen, their faces went into that of sadness. They told him that Carl and Sheen went into a coma upon impact, and 1 day after being in the hospital, they died.
End of flashback
As Jimmy looked out the window, he began to wonder something. He began to wonder why Cindy and Libby were by his bedside when he woke up from the accident. When he woke up, he could have sworn that they had relieved faces on them. Where they there to support him about Carl and Sheen, or were they there because they really cared about him. Jimmy got off the recliner, stretched, and went outside, with Goddard following him. He was going to find out just why Cindy and Libby were by his bedside the day he woke up from the accident. He went over to Cindy's house, Goddard in tow. Cindy and Libby were still talking when Jimmy and Goddard came over. When Cindy saw Jimmy, her mood changed from one of happiness to one of anger. Libby, wondering why Cindy suddenly stopped talking, followed her eyesight over to Jimmy. She realize the instant see saw Jimmy that things were about to take the turn for the worst.
"What do you want, Nerdtron?" asked Cindy.
Cindy's glare would have made even the toughest man run scared, but it didn't even faze Jimmy.
"I don't want to argue with you Vortex. I just wanted to ask you and Libby a question."
"What is it?" asked Libby.
"Ya, what is it? I want to get back to what I was doing before you reared your ugly head over here." said Cindy.
"I want to know something. First do you remember that accident I had with my hovercar, the accident that, well, ended the lives of my two best friends?" asked Jimmy.
Both girls nod their heads yes. Libby started to get tears in her eyes.
"Well, my question is, when I woke up, why were you next to my bed in the hospital room? Was it to help me get though the emotional pain of losing Carl and Sheen, or was it because you two wanted to make sure that I was alive and alright?" asked Jimmy, tears swelling in his eyes.
Before either girl could answer, Libby goes into Cindy's house crying. Cindy runs in after her. She says, "I answer your question later.", and then she closes the door shut, attempting to comfort Libby. Jimmy leaves the porch and heads back to his house.
Just as he was about to enter his house, he tells Goddard, "Go to Retroville park and stay there. I need some time to think."
He then enters his house while Goddard goes to Retroville Park. To Jimmy this was a lonely day. To Goddard, this was a confusing day, and to Cindy and Libby, this was a confusing and sad day.
