I really wanted to try a one-shot, so please bear with my rambling. So, this thing is third person and picks up after chapter 3 (which hasn't been posted as of yet).
Ramblings and Portals
"Really? Really?" Dani huffed, plopping down onto the ground. She was sure that she had been going the right way to get back to her room from Mephisto's library, but after several turns, she was hopelessly lost. Percy, her ever faithful companion, meowed up at her as if to say: Geez, look at where you got us now! Thanks buddy ol' pal.
Stupid cat.
"When you're lost, you're not supposed to move around a lot, right?" she asked the cat, who in turn just looked at her with blank amber eyes. "Yeah, we're supposed to stay put, someone will come lookin' fer us, I know it." At least that's what all of those survival shows she had watched (out of pure boredom, she would always say.) said.
Stay put, don't go wandering around. The more you moved around the harder it was to find and rescue you.
Then again, they hadn't been lost inside of a demon's home. After fleeing said demon's wrath after once again leaving piles of books on every surface.
She picked up Percy and held him at eye level. "You know how to get back, don't you? You do it all the time!"
He just looked at her and blinked .
She sighed and set him back down on the ground, where he began the task of grooming his already spotless fur. That cat was probably the cleanest and most well groomed animal on the planet, and she didn't even have to throw him into water to get him clean. Unlike dogs.
Dani sat in the hall, how long she didn't know. She didn't move or speak. The only thing that showed that she was even alive was the occasional blink of her eyelids and the slow rise and fall of her chest.
It took a while for her to realize that she was sitting outside of her door.
