A/N: Poem about Sirius in Azkaban (Yay! My spell checker doesn't underline that with a little red thingy anymore...). The tile refers to the Dementors, I don't think Sirius is crazy (OK, maybe I do, but that's not what the title means). This is not as good as "Bitter Boy" by rave, which you should all go read. We did a poem in English that kind of inspired this — there was a line about someone's eyes being as dark as flies, and the first line just kind of came into my head. This is a fairly long poem, for me, and I'll shut up now.
Demented
The darkness looks out through my eyes
But it has not consumed my soul
It can't have
i know they are wrong
i know i loved
i know i tried
Cold is always
Sadness-pain
Sweeping towards me
Like dark destroyers
They want to take my soul
i know i still have one
i know there is light
Beyond their darkness
My darkness
i loved
i tried
It wasn't enough
Their blood will be on my hands
Forever
They promised each other
i promised too
i tried
i couldn't
i feared
He feared too
He sold himself
i let him sell them
He accused me
He looked hurt
Hurt that i had betrayed them
My hurt won't leave
They could wash it away
They cannot
He is the reason
We vowed friendship
Forever, we said
He did too
My forever is longer than his
i will stay in this Hell forever
Mine
i would stay longer to bring them back
i can't
So i will stay now
My penance
My reason for life
He should not live
He should know this Hell
He betrayed them
They are gone
The house grows cold
In the darkness
Darkness is all i have all i am
The darkness looks out through my eyes
But it will not consume my soul
I
