A.N.- OK, this was for a school project in Creative Writing, and I decided to post it here.  I have always liked tinkering and parodying song lyrics, so expect a couple more of these from me, some serious, some not.

Testimony – a take on Fuel's "Innocent"

Hey Dad,

Got something to say to me?

Isn't it ironic,

That you caught me on my knees?

Just one of those times where I was left wonderin'

Over words that kept me stumblin'

Things I meant to say,

Mean nothing today.

Wonder where time went

Where it went.

Hey Dad,

Dry the tears from your eyes.

Never knew I had

The power to make you cry.

I bang my head on the floor and

You quietly close the door

My face turns deathly pale

You tell me why I derailed,

And still I won't repent, yeah

This thing

Has got me confused

Picking up the pieces

Of my shattered ruse.

Just one of those times where I was left wonderin'

Over words that I'd been mumblin'

But now those words were said

My life is as good as dead

I put this gun to my head

And I was innocent

Innocent

I was innocent
