Bridget was sitting in the front row. When she heard Franky being called up on the stage to receive her law school diploma her heart almost exploded. It was filled with so much pride and love it was almost inexplicable. It had taken four years for Franky to get that diploma. Four years of hard work and there were times she almost gave up. But she didn't. Her resilience was breathtaking to Bridget, who lost a piece of heart to Franky every day. Her eyes watered with tears.
When Franky looked looked down from the stage she spotted Bridget instantly. She tilted her head and mouthed 'I love you'. Bridget was beaming. That woman up there was her's.
When the official part was over they met in the outside lawn area. There were heaps of parents, grandparents, graduates and relatives. But for Franky, there was just one psychologist. "Well, there's one fine looking sheila, and she's all mine". Franky said with beaming smile and gave a kiss on Bridget's cheek.
"What, that's all I get?" Bridget replied and pulled Franky closer and gave her a more profound kiss.
"Easy there tiger, don't wanna spook all the stuck up parents here" Franky whispered in Bridget's ear.
"I'm so proud of you, you know that right?" Bridget caressed Franky's face tenderly.
"Yea Bee, I know" Franky said with a wink.
"Bee, that's a new one" Bridget smirked.
"Well, you're new to me every day" Franky replied and wiped away few strands of stray hair from Bridget's face behind her ear.
Franky took her hand and they walked away from the crowd. After the ceremony there was a small cocktail party they both attended. Bridget was wearing an above the knee light blue dress that showed her toned arms and Franky was strutting in a classic little black dress. They were a stunning pair and heads were turning. You could call them a power couple. They couldn't keep their hands off each other. Even after four years every kiss felt almost like their first.
The love Franky felt for Bridget just grew stronger over the years. They say everything has a meaning. What if the meaning of her time in Wentworth was Bridget? She was at her lowest when they had met and if it weren't for her god knows where she'd be right now. But now, now they shared a house. Actually much more then a house, they shared a life. For better or for worse. And Franky smiled when she thought of those words.
Later that night they were at home sitting on the terrace with drinks. It was warm and there was gentle breeze. Franky was acting kinda nervously and it was worrying Bridget.
"Is everything okay babe?".
"Yea, yea, just a big day today that's all. Hey I'm gonna get another drink, you want one?" And without waiting for a reply she vanished into the house. Franky had a little box in her dressing room. In that box she had all sort of knick knacks, memorabilia. There was also a tiny little red case. She opened it and looked at what was inside. She had purchased that case two years ago and had been saving it for the right time. For better or for worse. This was the time.
Bridget wondered where Franky had gone. And suddenly she was there, holding something in her hand and looking like she was going to combust. Franky walked closer to Bridget, knelt down and opened the case. Being a woman with words, this the first time Franky was out of words. So she just went with it.
"Bridget Westfall, will you marry me?".
Bridget was stunned. Her hand went over her mouth and she was on the verge of tears.
"Yes. Yes I will."
Their wedding were held on beach on a beautiful sunny day one year later. Believe it or not but Boomer was Franky's bridesmaid and even Vera was there. Bridget was still working in the prison and Franky was working as a lawyer. Franky had come full circle. This lives together were just starting.
