Starrify

Quick Summary: She had always loved the stars, now he made her love it more.

Gajeel Redfox x Levy Mcgarden

"What are you doing here?" He asked, making her jump a little in fright of someone creeping just beside her. "Easy there, Shrimp. Don't want you falling there now, would you?" He asked pointing down them, they're currently on a mission and now that it's late at night, decided to stop to rest. Fortunately for Levy, there's a cliff where you can see a beautiful view above.

Levy heaved a relieved sigh, "oh it's just you." She lightly laughed, "I thought it was some creep or whatever person. Well, what are you doing here, Gajeel? Don't you want to fight with Natsu or Gray?" She asked, pointing at their back where Natsu and Gray are really fighting over some food whilst the girls try to sleep- oh how they wished Erza is with , she had gone to an S-Class Mission.

"Nah," he answered, sitting beside her and looking at where she's currently looking at- the stars that flickers above them. "Weren't you suppose to answer me first as I asked you that question earlier than you did?"

Levy grinned, "The sky is once again starrified, so I thought why not to watch it again?" Gajeel shrugged and watched them too, when he couldn't stand any more silence, he was about to speak only to be interrupted by Levy- "don't you think they're... beautiful?"

Gajeel looked at her, he felt as if he was in a daze, then he answered curtly after. "Yeah." Realizing what he had been thinking while agreeing to it, he furiously shook his head and giving his attention back to the twinkling stars. "What made you love them so much, anyway?"

Levy's smile dropped and was replaced by a frown. And he just had to ask that, she grumpily thought. Gajeel who noticed the sudden crestfallen face she had, "you don't have to answer if you didn't feel like answering, you know."

Levy slowly shook her head, "it's alright." She still looked above them, but now unfocused unlike earlier. She was trying to stop her tears from falling, after all. "Before my parents... died, we used to stargaze every night." She let out a bitter laugh, "my mom, dad, and me, loved stars very, very much." A tear escaped from her left eye, and Gajeel didn't fail to notice it. More tears soon escaped, "I'm-I'm sorry. I just, y-you know, crack up when I talk about my parents' d-death."

Gajeel didn't know how else to comfort her, so he did what first came inside his mind. He carefully pulled her into his arms, wrapping his muscled arms around her as if she's the only thing he can hold on to. This made Levy cry even more, though. Saying things like "I miss them," and "I'm sorry," or "I want to see them." Gajeel stroked her hair though, just letting her cry on his arms, not really minding how wet his shoulder is right now, what only matters to him is to let the girl he's holding right now, to feel better.

Minutes had passed, Levy finally let out the last cry as she moved away from Gajeel, making him feel empty again. "I'm so sorry Gajeel," she muttered under her breath. "I didn't mean to cry like a baby to you. Ugh, that was, uh, kind of embarrassing. Again, I apologize."

"If it makes you feel better, I never met my parents too. The real ones, I mean," Gajeel smirked at her. She knew it wasn't the usual smirk he has, she felt the sadness lingering on it and also in his voice.

She playfully rolled her eyes, "absolutely not. But... well we have Fairy Tail now. So I suppose it's alright." Then she looked above them again as the stars twinkled more, "I'm sure the stars will guide us. Our parents might be above us too, guiding us," she giggled.

"Yeah," he stood up and offered his right hand to her. "Let's go to sleep, we obviously have a lot to do tomorrow."

Levy cracked a smile that soon followed by a giggle as she took Gajeel's hand. "Never pictured you as a gentleman, Gajeel." He didn't respond back, only smiled at her. A really sincere and truthful smile that made her heart leap for a bit. As they walk nearer, Levy stopped and tugged on Gajeel, urging him to bent down a little bit. "Thank you," she whispered and planted a kiss on Gajeel's cheek, his now bright red cheeks.

The End
