Addiction
Summary: Where in Natsu deals with his addiction of video games whilst Lucy seeks advice to their friends.
Natsu Dragneel x Lucy Heartfilia
"Yeah," Gray nodded his head vigorously to Lucy's question, then he chortled. "I can't believe it, so he played it 24 hours? Well, the games are interesting and-"
"Are you telling me I'm a boring person?!" Lucy gasped, glaring at Gray who nervously looked at her because of her sudden outburst. "Are you telling me, my boyfriend thinks the video games are much more interesting than his girlfriend?!"
Erza suppressed a laughter seeing Gray's reaction. Gray nonetheless, straightly sat to continue speaking. "No, geezers Lucy, calm down!" He heaved a sigh, "that's not what I meant, alright? Y'know what, why don't you confront him and I will just go hang out with Juvia." He stood up and nodded at Lucy and Erza before turning to leave.
Lucy took the seat once sat by Gray as she frustratedly looked at Erza, "he won't give me any attention, Erza!" Realizing her words, she shook her head, "I'm not an attention-whore, it's just that he's giving much more importance to that- that damn video games than his girlfriend. Can you believe that?"
Erza shrugged, though with a sly smile that. Lucy hated that, it seemed to her that she knew something she doesn't. But of course, her matters to Natsu are more important than that, maybe she'll deal with it after she deals with Natsu. "Oh just be patient, Lucy. We all know you're the most important person to him, he loves you very much. I'm certain he won't replace you with some games."
Lucy sincerely smiled the first time today, she had been frustrated since earlier that morning, actually since the day before yesterday. Since the day Natsu got his stupid video games that his friends, namely Gray and Gajeel, had introduced to him. Now he felt bad for whining, even for screaming at Gray earlier. "I'm going to talk to him," she said, standing up.
Erza slightly giggled, "well good luck. Don't hesitate to smack him if he refused to pause his games."
"Will do," Lucy smirked. Thinking she might even destroy the games her boyfriend dearly loved since the past few days. But of course she won't do that, not wanting to keep on widening the distance currently between them right now. Since the cafe where she, Erza and Gray met up were just steps away, it wasn't only after five minutes she arrived home.
Home- where Lucy and Natsu shared the same house. They're a couple for almost six years now, after all. Nothing's awkward between them, they're almost like a married couple- only their relationship is kind of on the verge of being destroyed because of some video games addiction and also the fact that they're not yet engaged. Sighing, she went to inside and straight to the living room where Natsu spent most of his hours playing video games. She gaped her mouth a little, seeing that Natsu is not there playing video games. Shrugging, she called for him. "Natsu? Natsu, where are you? We need to talk!" She called out, but no one answered.
Maybe he's upstairs? She thought, then proceeded to walk upstairs. Nearing to their bedroom, she heard muffled laughter and giggles, talking too, coming from familiar voices. Wondering what is going on, she turned the door knob and opened the door. Without knocking. The first thing she saw- well people, were shocked faces of namely, Levy, Juvia, Gray, Gajeel, Jellal and... Natsu. Their mouths were gaped, eyes were widened. It was her who was soon shocked, probably more shocked than them as she saw something atop of them, their bedroom wasn't the same too as there is a table on the middle with two chairs, a candle in the middle and such. "What the hell is happening here?"
"She's denser than I thought," Levy giggled and Lucy pouted at her. "Well guys, why don't we leave the lovebirds alone?" She turned to Natsu and mouthed him 'good luck.' After that, they passed to Lucy as they gave her a smile that soon became a mystery to her, again, it's as if they knew something she does not and it greatly frustrated her than ever.
Shaking her head, she turned to Natsu whose sweat is now pouring, little by little of course. He seemed nervous, making Lucy wonder why. "Natsu, glad to see that you finally got your ass off of playing those video games," she sarcastically told him. She's angry, alright. "If I knew that our friends will be those who can make you stop playing those- those dumb games then you could have just told me so I can personally get them for you!"
Natsu was taken aback, then his face cracked a smirk. "Are you jealous of them, Lucy?" She was about to answer back, only to be interrupted by Natsu. "Shush, I was the one who called them here, asking them to help me prepare... well, this messy room," he bit his lip as if trying to find more words. Then he faked a cough while Lucy silently looked at him, with curiosity. "Since you arrived earlier than I thought, and I planned such a bizarre one only to be stopped, then I guess this will be memorable enough." He deeply breathed in and out as he got down on one of his knees, pulling a red box out of his pocket, Lucy widened his eyes as her cheeks flushed different shades of red. She couldn't find any words to respond.
"You know I'm not really good at words, but Lucy Heartfilia, I love your soft blonde locks, your chocolate brown eyes, the way you softly snore that sometimes wake me up, how silly you get, the way you cuddle with me, how you get so sucked up in reading a book or when you are writing your novel. I love the way you cook my favorite food, how you always understand me, how you manage to stand by me, always. Lucy, I love you and I don't think I can live a day without you by my side."
Lucy giggled, and Natsu pouted. "Oh come on, I'm trying to be romantic here y'know?"
"Go on, then," she said, a tear fell from her cheek. Natsu smiled at her as she gulped her tears, though she really can't control it. Although Natsu still didn't pop out those four-words question.
"Lucy Heartfilia, will you marry me?" He stumbled back to his back when Lucy jumped to hug him, they were on the floor, Lucy hugging him as if her life depended on him. "Is that a no?" Natsu jokingly told her.
"Yes, yes, a million times yes!" Afterwards, she attacked him with kisses and another hug. "I love you too, Natsu! Very much, but you still need to explain to me WHY you're so hooked up with those video games."
Natsu chuckled, slipping the silver ring to her left ring finger. They comfortably sat there on the floor as Natsu started his story. "First of all, I am not addicted in video games. In fact, my addiction is only one girl, Lucy Heartfilia." He grinned at her, letting more butterflies- or the whole zoo- in her stomach, she blushed and she can really bet a million that her face looks like a tomato right now, only it was stained with her joyful tears. "Second, I let you think I'm addicted with those games so that you won't suspect me or our friends about the plan to propose to you. Sadly, you ruined it," the last part, he jokingly told her.
Lucy laughed a little, "I should've waited then? But like you said, this is memorable enough." She smiled at him, "I love you, Natsu."
"I love you too, Lucy," Natsu said before grabbing her waist and locking their lips together. It made them remember the first time they kissed, oh the pure bliss it did for them.
"Get a room, you two!" Both of them gasped, shocked as their friends were watching them with happy and joyous grins.
Natsu turned to them, "oh I have a better idea. Why don't you lot go outside of our room so we can continue without you guys disturbing us? Hm?"
"Natsu!" Lucy scolded, playfully smacking his shoulder.
"Well congratulations!" Their friends said, then as if they rehearsed, simultaneously looked at Alice with a devious smirk that somehow sent shivers to her spine. "I guess the next time we'll surprise will be Natsu, with baby toys," Gray teased them as he shoved himself out as well as the others. For he knows that Natsu will chase him, which he's right.
"Let's continue cuddling later, as I have a person to... probably bury," Natsu smirked at her leaving a blushing Lucy. She looked at her left ring finger and smiled, maybe she also has an addiction. Probably, surely and certainly... it's her boyfriend- and to be precisely, her now-Fiance, Natsu Dragneel.
