Right in my heart…

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon.

A/N: I was playing SS when Morty calls. What he said had an idea pop into my head, a beautiful idea. Hopefully it'll be beautiful when it's all written out.

The red and yellow leaves were already scattering the grounds of the Bell Tower, though the season was still spring. Bell Tower, the very tower where Ho-oh roosts upon when the great lord of the sky visits the humble city of Ecruteak. The very tower that once stood with its twin before it was fatefully burnt. Oh, the three beasts caught in the flames, how their dying roars would have been heart wrenching. The great Ho-oh had revived them of course and now they roam Johto, their speeds only rivals by the Magnet train in Goldenrod City to Saffron.

Sighing, the current gym leader of Ecruteak looked up from the colored trees and their falling leaves to view the top of the Bell Tower, to hopefully catch a glance of Ho-oh, but, like every other attempt, no luck. Still, the ghost-trainer didn't give up, he simply turned to return to the temple, give the monks his well wishes before heading back to his gym or possibly to do more research in the newly dubbed Burnt Tower.

Something however had stopped him, making his sad eyes look up from the paved cobble stone pathway to the temple before him. There, standing in all of his glory and might, the Lord of Fire, the beast, Entei. The beast knew that he was there, but hadn't shown it, merely looking up at the tower like the gym leader had just done moments ago. Daring not to breath, the Gym Leader made no attempts to capture the fast Lord, only to view and witness.

Dropping to one knee, he lowered his head, very much like how his ancestors would have done so many years ago before the Legendary Pokémon, their Gods, their Deities. Entei had taken a step forward, his dark eyes watching the blond gym leader closely as the human raised his head at the sudden noise. For a moment, a small connection, a tiny bit of understanding had passed between the two. The Lord knew the human would not capture him or chase after, instead, he simply stayed on one knee, bowed before the beast.

The Pokémon's eyes shimmered, making the leader gasp, making the both of them tense for a moment, both out of fear of what the other would do. When the two relaxed when no other movement was made, Entei's eyes focused as they stared into the human's. Staring into his eyes, into his soul, into his very heart, as if judging the human on his actions on this world.

Standing slowly, the gym leader inched his hand up before him, palm before him as his fingers raised to the skies above him. The wind blew gently, ruffling the leader's clothes and hair, for the Pokémon, his fur and mane, every delicately flowing. Eyes soften as the large beast steps closer, heavy paws making a quiet hushing noise as weight and mass was moved forward. Nose less than two feet from the human's palm, Entei had stopped, staring once again in the Leader's eyes.

The trainer lowered his hand and took a step back, his right hand going to his heart as his head lowered. The Pokémon tilted hit own massive head forward, taking his own step back before his back legs pushed against the ground, scaling the Leader and swiftly flying past the tall tower. Feeling the Pokémon's presence disappearing, the leader only smiled, lowering his hand as his head rose. Never did he look behind him to see where the Lord had taken off to, but only forward, hoping that once again, the two will run into each other again.

A/N: Yeah, short, sweet. As I said, based off of what Morty had told me in the PokéGear. "You know, I had once seen Entei myself. It was very close, looking at me, staring right into my heart…"
