"Luna?" Oliver whispered. Oliver had started teaching at Hogwarts as the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher just when Luna had started her seventh year. He was also replacing Madam Hooch, since the yellow-eyed woman had retired just as Luna had started her sixth year. Over a few months, Oliver and Luna had bonded, and over time, they began secretly dating. Today was a date that Luna had set up for him on the grounds, at eleven o'clock at night.
Oliver blundered around for two minutes until a small, cool pair of hands covered his eyes. He panicked, before recognizing Luna's sweet, minty scent.
"Guess who?" Luna whispered, taking her hands off his face.
"Luna!" Oliver said, smiling and turned around. Right behind him, Luna was standing, beautifully dressed in a long sleeved dress that reached down to her ankles. Her long blonde hair billowed out with the wind, and she was barefoot. It wasn't a while until Oliver figured out they were standing on grass.
"Hello. Squint and see if you can see it." Luna said, in her dreamy voice. Oliver squinted. There was a red and white-checkered picnic blanket, and there were candles and there were a few snacks that Luna had arranged neatly.
"Wow, Luna."
"Why don't we take a seat." Luna said. Oliver and Luna sat down next to each other. Luna rested her head on Oliver's chest, and breathed in his cozy, musky scent.
"So, Luna, what are we going to do tonight?" Oliver asked, curiously.
"This." Luna said, and pulled out two unlit candles. "I thought it would be nice to see what we're doing."
"Well. Okay." Oliver said, bemused. He pulled out his wand and took one of the candles. Luna stopped him. I want to try this out. She took back the candle and gave him the other one.
"Right. Now try and light it." Luna said.
"Okay… Incendio!" A jet of fire hit the rope that was poking out of the wax. It lit and the fire on the wand died. Luna smiled. "What are you so happy about?" Oliver asked, confused.
"Well. Let's say I put a charm on it so that they would only light up if the person who tries to light the candle loves the person who gave them the candle. So, in shorter words… you like me!" Luna said.
"Well, of course I do. Who wouldn't?" Oliver said, and pecked her on the lips. "Now you try."
"Okay. Incendio!" Once again, the candle was lit and Oliver smiled under the dim light. He set them on the blanket, making sure they stood straight up.
"So. Let's start our midnight feast." Oliver said. He held up a bowl of popcorn. "What are these?"
"Popcorn. My daddy said that muggles love to eat it. I do too!" Luna said, and threw one in the air and caught it with her mouth. "Mm…"
"Hm. Let me try." He popped a piece of popcorn in and grinned. He took a handful and stuffed it in his mouth.
"Oliver! You shouldn't!" She scolded, but smiled anyway.
"Mm…" Oliver said, swallowing. They ate their way through chocolate frogs, licorice wands, popcorn, biscuits and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. When they were full, Oliver burped.
Luna shook her head. Suddenly, she leapt on him like a jaguar and kissed him at full force. He kissed back and it started to become a make-out session. For Luna, he tasted like popcorn. For Oliver, she tasted like chocolate. She pulled away and put her head on his chest. She felt his heart beating and smiled. Together, they slept and the flame of the candle blew out.
