In the arms of the angels

Set during the season finale: Don't cry for me, Albuquerque. We all know what Marshall was doing…. Rushing to the hospital… but what was Dershowitz doing after the phone call hmm?? Well I have an idea… just a one-short.

Disclaimer: I don't own in plain sight (although I wish I did) or the song, in the arms of the angels. RR please! Slight spoilers.

The second bobby heard "Gun!" he looked up and watched as the women he would wake up, almost every morning, and work a case with, collapsed on the cold, hard ground, Her gun still in her hand. He immediately lowered his gun and rushed to her side.

Spend all your time waiting

for that second chance

for a break that would make it ok

there's always some reason

to feel not good enough

and its hard at the end of the day

His hands fumbled with his phone as he hurriedly dialed 911; all the while his gun was raised, to fend off any more apposing threats. The detective took one look down at Mary, and then wished he hadn't. The sight before him churned his insides making him want to vomit, but he had to hold it together, to make the dreaded call to Marshall and Stan.

When he heard the familiar sound of police cars and ambulances he lowered his gun and stared at, the now bloody, Marshal. Bobby put his fingers to her neck to see if he could get a pulse, but froze when he found none.

"Mary…Mary! Mary!!" He shouted, although he knew she couldn't hear him. Taking off his jacket, he put it over Mary's wound and held it there, hoping to staunch the bleeding, while his other hand dialed Stan's number.

I need some distraction

oh beautiful release

memories seep from my veins

and maybe empty

or their weightless and maybe

we'll find some peace tonight

After three rings, Stan picked up. "Hello," He said casually.

"Stan, it's Dershowitz, Mary's been shot!" he said in a rush.

"Oh god," Stan whispered.

"Call Marshall and tell him to get to the hospital right away," Dershowitz said, "I'll be at the station as soon as Mary's in the ambulance."

"Alright I'll be at the hospital in ten minutes," Stan said then hung up.

Bobby put his phone back in his pocket, and stood up to meet the people coming with the gurney, to which they gently but firmly hoisted Mary onto.

"Sir, are you coming with us?" One of them asked.

"No," Bobby said darkly as the street light sent a shadow over his face, "I'm going to make the shooter suffer."

In the arms of the angels

fly away from here

from the stark cold hotel room

and the endlessness that you feel

You were pulled from the wreckage

of your silent revere

you're in the arms of the angels

may you find some comfort here.

Authors note…. So?? Good right (: Not very long, i know... :( ok I admit Dershowitz's line was a little out of character, but it made a pretty good ending! Please read and review, it will make me happy! And for all of those who are reading, Slayers, songs, and so much love, don't worry I'll get back to that story soon, I promise!!
