"I'd be sad that I never held your hand as you were lowered, but I understand that I'd never have let go."

This was not how her life was suppose to play out -this was not how she planned it to happen. It was similar to playing a game of cards and thinking that one has the perfect hand, only to glance down and see that that Jack is actually a Joker. The Joker's face flashes over and over again before one's eyes, taunting, jeering, and laughing at the grief that it just put one through. There was nothing that she could do, though -these were the cards that she was dealt.

So there Molly knelt, her hands hiding her face as she let her tears run swiftly. She never thought in a million years that she would have to attend a funeral for her own flesh and blood. She shouldn't have to be watching from Earth; she should be up above, waiting to welcome him to the afterworld with open arms.

Molly did not trust herself to get too close to that mahogany coffin. She knew that if she saw Fred laying there she would, like so many other grieving parents would, reach out to hold his hand for one last time but she wouldn't be able to let go. How could she let him go? He was her son. He was a part of her smile, her heart, her soul; how could she let him leave her?

Then, to see George sitting there, looking half-alive, or was it half-dead? He was not the same person anymore -he never smiled. It killed her to not only to have one son die but have another and this one was dying right before her eyes. There was nothing that she could do about it and the knowledge ripped her to pieces inside.

What did she do to deserve this? What did Fred do? Or what did George do? Nothing. The wizarding world gained freedom at the cost of Fred's life. How was that fair?

But life never claimed to be fair. Life was just a game about learning things and experiencing things -it had nothing to do with fairness.

Even though she lost the game, she did learn something. She learned something that she would not wish on anybody -not even her worst enemy. That was that no parent should have to bury their child.

The quote "No parent should have to bury their child" belongs to Lord Of The Rings!

This was done for ThySilverDoe's Line From A Song Challenge. It's a lot of fun so you should check it out! Don't forget to leave a review.

Thanks mew for taking time away from studying to check this! Hahahaha, I think this is siriusly as far a way from little Molly/Fred II as it gets. :D
