The Things I Didn't Say

Chapter 1

There was nothing Elena Gilbert had more than starting at a boring and bland wall which was a very trivial thing to think about when anyone sits in an interrogation room. It had been hours since they had hauled her in there with her body covered full of dirt and it had been hours since she had refused to say a single thing to them without her lawyer present. If she was about to go down than they would all go down with her. She just wished they would have allowed her to take a shower before she had been dragged in here. Being covered in dirt was the most disgusting thing ever and it made her more than a little bit uncomfortable.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity, the police officer that had dragged her in there earlier sat down and her lawyer soon followed. Finally it had took them long enough. She just wanted this all to be over so she could go home.

"What is my client doing here?" her lawyer said as Elena crossed her arms over her chest.

"A body was discovered in the woods today. The body of April Young and we believe your client and a few others committed the crime."

"Based on what grounds?"

"The fact that she's covered in dirt and she was found at the scene of the crime."

Her lawyer looked at her as Elena shrugged. She wasn't really worried about it. Her family's lawyer had gotten people off for worse.

"I'm pretty sure my client has a standard explanation for this."

"Do you really?" the cop said looking at her.

Elena smiled and looked at the clock.

"Well it;s a long story, but it's a good one. Do you have time?"

"For this of course."

"Good, because this one is a good one."
