Short Charah fluff piece.

Chuck leant against the door frame with a faraway look and a dreamy smile on his face as he watched Sarah curled up on the couch, reading the mission files. The soundtrack in his head had naturally gone to the first song that came to mind when he saw her sitting there (Minnie Ripperton's Lovin' You), because it was SO right when he looked at her. Sarah was engrossed in the mission files and didn't notice his entry (he was getting better at moving quietly the longer he worked with her and Casey) or presence, so he just stood there for several minutes and just drank in her beauty for as long as he could. Eventually his mind had flipped to the second of the songs that usually went through his head when he looked at her (Boyz II Men's I'll make Love to You), and that song may have been why his smile was widening as he watched her. He still couldn't believe that this incredible woman would choose to be with him, he just thanked whatever gods may be up there that she'd given in to the lapse of sanity that made her do it.

Eventually Sarah registered that he was there and looked up to see him standing there with that adorably goofy grin of his and she smiled as HER go to song for him went through her head (JJ Cale's I'll Make Love to You Anytime), she wasn't about to admit it to him (or anyone else) because that would give him too much power over her, AND he'd given her so much grief over all the "What's your favourite song?" crap over the past few years, but she couldn't see him without that going through her head. She didn't even know where it came from, it must have been playing on the radio when she was on the road with Jack when she was a kid and stuck in the back of her head (that music was big in the South back then), but it came up whenever she saw him. Thinking about her song for him made her snort, as it always amused her that with that incredible brain of his he had never made the connection about why her go to accent when she was caught out or flustered was Southern, he analysed everything all the time, but he'd never registered that one piece of information about her past that had repeatedly slipped out unconsciously (especially as Jack slipped up on that when it was just them, too). It was amazing how Chuck had zoomed in on any hint about every other piece of trivia about her, but he'd missed the one that actually answered (well, kinda) the first real question about her that he'd asked. She was just glad that he was there and he was her's, she didn't know what she did to deserve him (didn't think she did, really), but she was glad she had him.

Chuck came out his daze when she snorted and smiled (his focused adoring smile rather than the faraway one he'd had on his face as he stood there), coming over to kiss her. Sarah asked how long he'd been there and he paused before admitting that he didn't really know because he'd zoned out. That got him a laugh and another kiss before she told him to sit down as they had to discuss the mission, but as he did so she looked back at him with a smile as she called him a dork.
