Preface

Thanks for reading this. I came up with this idea and just had to write about it and decided to post it. Feel free to leave a review and tell me if you like it or not.

As the sun rises slowly in the sky it spreads its light over the Hoenn region. A place where people and Pokémon live side by side and usually coexist peacefully.

On this day our story focuses on a particular household in the city of Slateport City. A household with two, soon to be three, coordinators.

Young Lily stirred under her blankets, rolling over and trying to catch a little bit more sleep. Even though the young ten year old was sleeping, the rest of the house was awake.

May was in the kitchen cooking breakfast while Drew was working to feed the Pokémon. He went from the house to the yard and greenhouse. In the yard you could see a few Pokémon particularly a Growlithe running around the fenced yard.

Inside the greenhouse, which was the size of a large contest hall, there was quite a few Pokémon. There were flowers seemingly being tended too by a Roserade while a Butterfree, Masquerain, Flygon and Beautifly could be seen flying around while Absol, Blaziken, Venusaur, Blastoise and Snorlax could be seen resting in various parts of the large greenhouse.

Inside the house were two more Pokémon, a Delcatty and a Glaceon. Of course the Growlithe could come in and out through the little door on the back door leading towards the greenhouse.

May chuckled everytime the puppy Pokémon rushed into the kitchen area and away again. Eventually the Growlithe made it's way upstairs with Glaceon and they both sat on a mat that read 'Lily's Room'

Drew came back into the house and sat down in his chair at the kitchen table "What's for breakfast today May?"

May bit her lip for a moment before replying, "I made her favorite. Eggs, bacon and french toast."

Drew was not oblivious to his wife's actions but chose to ignore them for now. "I'm sure she'll like that." he paused before continuing, "I got the Pokémon fed in the greenhouse. I made sure to give Snorlax a Pokéblock square so he wouldn't eat everyone else's food."

May just nodded.

Drew stood up and walked over to his wife, wiping his bangs back before speaking, "May, she'll be fine. Lots of other kids go on their journeys and leave their parents with a virtually empty house. With her out, it just means we'll have more time for the two of us. And we can even do more instructing."

May let a tear fall, "I know she has to go sometime but, I just wish I could stop time so she doesn't have to go so soon."

Drew hugged his wife from behind putting his arms around her, "May, My love. She'll be fine. We've taught her well. She. Will. Be. Fine."

May nodded and relaxed a bit before Drew released her. "I'll go see if she's awake."

At the same time upstairs, Lily was getting out of bed.
