It's official. I need a social life (: ok so I was listening to Rascall Flatts and I heard this song. Made me think of Eli. Simple as that.
Disclaimer: Don't own Degrassi or To make her Love Me by Rascall Flatts.
You waved your hand and it was done
Said "Let it be", and there it was
A mountain, so high, it broke through, the sky
A canyon, so deep, it'll bring a man to his knees
Elijah Goldsworthy was an atheist. Never in his life would he have thought he'd be on his knees praying. Yet here he was in an empty Chapel, head bowed, hands folded, and pleading with the man upstairs, if he existed.
He wasn't an atheist before Julia died; back then he was agnostic, knowing there was something, some power in this world, something that graced him with an amazing girlfriend. Now he wasn't so sure.
I've seen what you can do
I've seen you make miracles and hopeless dreams come true
You've made the heavens and the stars
Everything, come on how hard
Could it be, To make her love me?
You made the earth in less than a week. You've taken everything important to me and trashed it. My mental health; my girlfriend; my best friend. Is this punishment? Because if it is, I'm sorry. I don't know what I did to deserve this horrible life, but I'm sorry.
I've said some things I shouldn't have
Tried everything to win her back
I'm human, I messed up, Is she gone?, Are we done?
Forgiveness, another chance, that's all I want, it's in your hands
He almost never saw Adam anymore. The boy usually hung out with Clare and her friends. Mano-e-Mano took up a lot of his time and what he didn't spend there he spent with Dave, Alli, and all of the others. Just the other day, Eli saw him playing poker with Alli and Jenna.
Despite the loss of his best friend he could still have had Imogen. Not anymore, she hated him. Not that he blamed her or anything. He'd hate himself too if "You mean NOTHING to me" was screamed in his face. He owed her an apology.
He'd made an ass of himself in front of Clare, trying to get Jake expelled, and in her eyes, killed. He'd screwed up more than he ever had before. It wasn't something he could easily fix, but he'd make the effort.
Give me another chance. I'll make things up to everyone; I'll apologize. Just give me the one stable thing in my life back. PLEASE.
It was then he heard the slam of the door and sniffling. Glancing up,he saw the one, the only, Clare Edwards.
Her eyes widened in shock, as did his.
"I'm sorry, I'll just go," he mumbled, standing up and heading towards the door.
Wiping her eyes, she shook her head. "Don't. You were here first. Sorry I interrupted, but if you don't mind my asking, why are you here? You're an atheist," she said with a puzzled look on her face.
"Yeah well, I used to be agnostic," he replied silently, leaving the church. When he got to Morty he saw a note.
Eli-
Jake and I aren't going to work out.
