Gohan's Shadow

Classroom had just begun and Gohan was busy flicking the pencil in his hand over his fingers bored for some time now with the teacher's words and lecture. He had felt this way since father died a few months before from the virus he attained unpredictably. Gohan was devastated and had sunk into deep depression avoiding the happy things he loved in life. These emotions are still there but are getting better with the counseling he's getting from his therapist. He continued to sit there for the next fifteen minutes of class pretending like he was listening to what the teacher was saying but he didn't understand a darn thing. Sharpner and Erasa were getting worried about him each day in class and in the hallways because Gohan didn't socialize with them as much as he used too. They told him it was time to let go of his sad feelings that he had been making progress but he ignored them.
When class was over Sharpner and Erasa came over to talk to him but he walked away from them before they could catch up to him He ran, hid and then teleported to his house. Gohan opened the door to enter his home.
"Mom I'm home. Is that food I smell because I'm really hungry and you're cooking my favorite." Gohan said in excitement.
No one answered.
Gohan wondered why Chi Chi didn't respond maybe she's sleeping. "Mom are you taking a nap if you leave the food on the stove for to long it will over cook." Gohan yelled again. He went to the bedroom but Chi Chi wasn't there either and Gohan started to get worried.
"Alright stop playing around where are you mom are you hiding from me because this is not hide and seek time." Gohan said.
"She's not hiding." a voice said from a far hidden in the shadows.
"Who said that?" Gohan replied.
"It doesn't matter Gohan because in a few minutes your mother will be dead." the hidden figure said.
"No please don't she's all I have, my father passed away I'll never forgive myself if I lost her. What have I done to you to deserve this?" Gohan cried.
"Give me your power." the shadowed figure said.
"How can I do that it's just impossible to give my powers to you." Gohan said.
"Then if you don't your mother dies." the shadowed figure said.
"Take me with you and leave my mother here we will both figure out how to exchange my powers then." Gohan said.
"You think I'm stupid you'll just kill me. Now or she will die." the shadowed figure said.
Gohan had only one thing to do give him some ki energy and make him believe its power.
"OK I'll give you my powers." Gohan said.
Gohan released a small amount of ki energy into a ball and the shadow figure absorbed it.
He released Chi Chi as he felt energy rush through his body.
The shadow figure revealed himself. It was piccolo behind the shadows.
"Piccolo how could you do this." Gohan said.
"I wanted to show you your inner good shadow; you love your family so much that you will do anything for them. I see Goku's death still hurts you and that's alright, but there's a time to move on and think of the future. Think of what Goku would say, don't mourn my death but think of my life."
