Blink.

The sun shone brightly upon the village, more specifically, the highest hilltop in the village, as they sat upon that very hill, staring up at the sky.

"I've waited for this for so long," he'd whispered, and the other boy had stared at him curiously, his onyx eyes filled with awe.

Blink.

Rain cascaded down the window in torrents, chilling the air around the two boys as they huddled together under the sheets, the fire burning in the other room. The gentle glow that the flames emitted cast light shadows upon the floor that crept into the bedroom, but the boys were unaware of that. They were too wrapped up in each other, to notice anything else.

Blink.

"...I'll be back soon..."
"Don't be too long..."
The boy smiled at him reassuringly, though his dark eyes were clouded with grief as he hugged him yet again, kissing the top of his head lovingly.
"Don't worry."
He'd looked up at him with wide eyes, tears threatening to spill over as he managed a small smile and nodded. "Be safe..."

Blink.

The sun's soft rays filtered through the window pane and fell upon the boy lying in the bed, curled under the twisted sheets.
He smiled lovingly as he stared at him, gasping lightly as the boy stirred.
"Mm... Naruto..."
He grinned, his heart fluttering at the way he said his name. "Yes?"
The boy grinned, his eyes half-opened as he stretched lightly. "I love waking up to you..."
He couldn't wipe the goofy grin off his face, even if he'd wanted to, as he curled up next to the raven, nuzzling his neck affectionately.
He let his eyelids droop, content with just snuggling next to the boy for the rest of the day, or even their lives, but he wouldn't allow himself to close his eyes.

They'd been together for three years now, but it seemed like it had all passed in a blink of an eye.
