One Shot – An Imperfect Date
Clutching my arms around his neck we swayed as one to the soft music playing behind us. The small stereo was balanced in the rocks as we moved together on the beach. Sand between our toes and the midnight moon shining down created a spotlight on the water. It was beautiful, magical no word could ever describe it. I felt complete. His arms were snaked around my waist and his breath was tickling my hair. I rested my head against the soft fabric of his shirt that concealed his muscular chest. I could feel the warmth radiating from underneath the thin cotton. Neither one of us saying a word. It was comfortable. I couldn't believe how everything had turned out. One minute I'm being attacked by a boy who pledged his love to me the next I'm in the middle of a mind-blowing date swaying to music on a beach with only the moon watching over us. I felt his head drop to my ear and the melodious voice of my angel began singing the words of the song that reminded me of his love. I turned my head slightly to the left and his soft lips connected to my lips and the bond that united us brought us closer and closer. Every day with this god felt special. Every kiss with this man blew me away. Every touch this soul placed over me felt ecstatic. Every breath he tickled me with tingled my spine. No need to say I loved him. The music came to a finish and he brushed my lips with his own once more. He unlaced my hands from round my neck and entwined his fingers with mine. He pulled me over to the blanket that was set out and sat down pulling me into his lap. He began kissing the back of my ear and trailing it down to my neck and shoulder blades. He reached in front and brought me closer to him. I murmured his name as he kissed along my jaw line.
Suddenly he tensed up and removed me from his knees so I was sitting next to him.
"I gotta go."
My Embry leaving me. Alone. This wasn't like him. Then I heard it. A distant but clear wolf howl.
