A/N: I actually wrote this down on a church bulletin during a Sunday morning service, during a time when I was doing a lot of questioning of the Bible and the morality of Christian beliefs—what the heck, I'm still doing all that questioning.  It's a self-rebuke in a way, but then again "question authority"…Anyway, let me know what you think.

"False Readers"

Objectivity,

credibility,

extreme gullibility,

which have I?

Easily led,

easily dead?

Hard of head?

I want to

decide for myself…

Our Lord has no enemy, no enemy greater

than those called False Readers

readers, readers

who read the Book

without a second look

use it to say

whatever they

believe it should,

agendas, agendas…

Liberalism,

conservatism,

moderately midway,

doesn't matter where I am!

When I open the Book

my eyes don't look

for God, but for

philosophies of man

Object to authority

it's a question of priority

accept what's given

or look for more?

But when I open the

Book, my eyes straight look

to my idealistic agenda

—should I lead others astray?

Our Lord has no enemy, no enemy greater

than those called False Readers

readers, readers

who read the Book

without a second look

use it to say

whatever they

believe it should,

agendas, agendas…

Objectivity,

credibility,

extreme gullibility,

which have I?

hard-left liberal

right-wing conservative

moderate in the middle,

all of you watch out!

Question authority

but watch your priorities

lest you fall into the trap

and become the False Reader

reader, reader…

Our Lord has no enemy, no enemy greater

than those called False Readers

readers, readers

who read the Book

without a second look

use it to say

whatever they

believe it should,

agendas, agendas…

I want to know what's right.
