A/N: Wow, it's been months! I was just talking to some friends today and was inspired to write this short silly story. I hope you enjoy it.
When we last left our central three characters, they seemed to be doing all right. Now after months and months of no fan fictions by Pop the day, they're still doing pretty good and enjoying their sophomore year.
One thing, though, had been driving Ned, Moze and Cookie all year. At least once a day, one of them would see some different person reading the same book. By November they could recognize it immediately. On the cover was a pair of arms holding out an apple, the name of the book was Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Within hours, it seemed everyone was reading it at Michael Dukakis High School. While spending their usual lunch period with Mr. Mosely (whom is a teacher there in case you didn't know), he sparked up a conversation.
"So, have you guys ever read that Twilight book that everyone in the school is reading?" Mr. Mosely asked.
"No, at least I haven't I can't speak for these two though." Ned said.
"Well, daddy," Moze began, "it's not that I don't want to read them, I just… don't want to read them."
"Yeah, I honestly know nothing about them, except that it's about some girl and there are vampires!" Cookie said.
"Vampires like Dracula or The Count from Sesame Street?" Mr. Mosely asked.
"Somewhere in between, I'd guess." Cookie responded.
Moze rolled her eyes, "Yes, because we all know vampires spend their days sucking blood or counting Muppets."
The bell rang ending the period and our central trio left for their next classes. Moze was heading on her way to Earth Science when she encountered Suzie in the halls. And, of course, she was just finishing reading Twilight. Quick to recommend to someone, Suzie darted to Moze and shoved the book into her arms.
"Jennifer, you have to read this book!" Suzie enthusiastically said. "It's amazing!"
Moze, finally getting a grip on the book, looked at the cover and groaned. "Oh, god, not you too…" she said to Suzie.
"Oh, I know, I know, I used to feel the same way about this book. But I just finished reading it! This is the greatest book I've ever read in my life! When I read it, I felt like I was in it!"
Moze quickly skimmed through the book. "… It doesn't seem that long. Do you mind if I borrow it?"
"Oh," Suzie began, "Please! I have the movie to keep me occupied before I start reading the second book. I already bought my ticket! It's going to be the greatest movie I've ever seen in my life!"
"You said the same thing about The Dark Knight over the summer."
"Forget about The Dark Knight! Twilight is going to be amazing!"
After school, Moze put the book on a drawer in her room and went on with the rest of her afternoon. That night, right before going to bed, Moze picked up the book she thought of as contagious and opened up, reluctantly beginning to trudge her way through Twilight…
Bear in mind this is being written by someone who has not read the Twilight books so just go with my struggles! Good night everybody!
