A/N: Idea for this fic came about when RisikaNekoDemon, NightWalkerAmerin (deviantart IDs) and I were discusing this picture (Please check out at RisikaNekoDemon dot deviantart dot com). Sorry the ending sucks, I had trouble with it. ;;
It came so quickly Roxas didn't even know it was there until it was too late. The Assassin Nobody's sworld-like hands had cut a deep gash into Roxas' side. "Nn! Axe-" He tried calling out to his fighting partner, unable to complete the name before blacking out from pain.
"Roxas!" Axel screamed as he watched the blond sink to the ground. His rage was sparked by the flames that danced around his fingers. He attacked the Nobody that struck down Roxas destroying it with one slice from his Chakram. Standing above the blonde he set out a wave of flames from all around him to protect his friend. He let the fire burn as he dropped to his knees beside Roxas, pulling the blond close to his body.
When XIII awoke there was flames everywhere, burning and consuming everything they touched. He felt Axel's warmth against his body. He groaned softly opening his eyes painfully, stunned at the sight before him "...Axel?" He gasp as he saw tears rolling down the redhead's cheeks. "Axel!"
"Roxas! You're... you're..." Axel shook his head "You can't... this isn't happening!" Roxas looked at the other in shock, what wasn't happening? Then he saw it, them, the specks of darkness. Who was fading into nothing? He couldn't tell.. his vision slightly blurred. "Roxas... please... don't..." Axel was sobbing.
Then it hit Roxas, he was the one that was fading. An eerie smile formed across, "Ah... what a funny way to end, being taken out by a lesser Nobody..." He watched a few more specks of darkness drift off his body and vanish into nothing.
"Roxas..." Axel pulled the other closer, "Don't leave me... I need you..." He whispered into blond hair.
The younger Nobody pushed himself away from Axel so he could look up at his face. "Axel don't cry..." He reached up to brush the tears away from the redhead's face, "I'm just a Nobody. I'm nothing." His hand remained on the tattooed cheek watching as his hand started to fade away.
Axel shook his head holding Roxas tighter, "Roxas you are something... somebody to me." He sobbed harder as the pieces of darkness started fading into oblivion faster. "...You are my heart." The redhead choked out.
Roxas frowned briefly but it quickly turned into a smile as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Axel... I..." He was losing his consciousness, "I always..." He took a shallow breath and Axel held him tighter. "... knew you.. did..." The words were barely whispered as more of Roxas faded into nothingness. "I felt the..." The blond smiled sadly his last word lost as he disappeared from Axel's arms.
"No! Roxas..." Axel whispered as the last pieces of the blond faded into oblivion. There was nothing, he had nothing left.
