--- The Pieces
The world can be hard to understand sometimes. When people look at art, they pick apart the colorwheel to find individual meanings. For a while, I did, too.
Pictures with shades of blue were sad, depressing. Red was fierce, angry. There were so many meanings to the individual colors, and I never thought to look at the overall picture. You have to combine them all to get the true meaning.
--- Light
Light is generally portrayed by yellow, a color that is used to mean 'caution'. Something that is meant to be so pure, why would you need to be careful?
Because you can lose yourself. Your goals, your morals are all in the right place... But what if it goes too far? People become cruel when they are convinced it is all for the right reasons. You become so immersed in right and wrong, you divide the world. Only fact and what makes sense has any real holding in the realm of light.
The man, DiZ, he fought so hard to get the hero back. He didn't care who he hurt or what worlds he destroyed as long as he met his goal. Without the hero, the world would become nothing... nothing.
--- Nothing
Nothingness is abstract. When there is no definition to follow, it can become contorted. Things that are meant to be beautiful are turned inside out and become really, truly ugly.
How can a being, a world be nothing if it exists? They never understood, but I did. Just because you are solid doesn't mean you matter.
I can still feel him, breathing down my neck and telling me the difference between wrong and right. He'd touch me and send chills down my spine, whispering in my ear. He'd give me pet names, because I was his. I was nothing but his.
I used to like his flowers. He'd show me his garden and his roses, and everything was perfect. But he only showed me it to let me know that I would never matter more than the flowers. Everything turned inside out. The roses thorns had grown, his charming smile had become cruel and nothing was as it seemed.
--- Darkness
Darkness is black and white, antique. The colors are shades of grey, never giving any real definition. The details get lost in the color, it's not as aesthetically pleasing, so people turn it aside. With no color, people don't see the beauty of the rose completely, nor do they see the thorns.
It is harder to understand and takes an open mind to truly absorb it. Sometimes, if something doesn't make sense, people don't want it. Why are we afraid of the dark? We're not really sure, but we don't hesitate to turn the light back on.
Darkness is a sad place to live, and when the light is out you lose your way.
--- The Masterpiece
For the world to live in peace, we need all three. I know, because I met him... Riku. He was a boy battling his darkness, traveling through nothing in the name of light. He showed me to truly understand, to be complete and righteous, you need to be complete.
He was so kind to me despite his struggles... He accepted the darkness to save his best friend from the nothing. I remember drawing pictures of him, smiling down at the pages where he smiled back at me.
Then one day, he took my hand, looked down at me, and smiled, telling me everything was okay.
