A/N Hello, all of you lovely readers. This is my new piece which was born during my English class due to boredom. I do not know whether is good but I decided to publish it nevertheless. As always, much thanks to my lovely beta without who this wouldn't have come to live.

P.S. For those of you who know me because of my other stories, don't worry there is a chapter of Long May She Reign coming up very soon. As for Our Great Glory and Our Great Tragedy we have not given up on it as well.

P.S.2. I suggest listening to Unfaithful by Rihanna while reading.

After The Misdeed

Anna was walking down the street towards her home. She was sad and disappointed of herself. She had done it again. She didn't want this to happen. She was determined not to allow it to happen again. But every determination is weak, compared to need and love. And she loved the way he made her feel even though the society said it was wrong. No one before had made her feel this way. Not even her own husband.

She knew this wasn't fair. She knew that her husband deserved much better. She had to be the obedient and honest wife she was supposed to be. She had to stay home and take care of her son. But she couldn't. Not when he was part of her life. She smiled barely at the thought of him. He loved her. He made her feel like the only woman in the world. Alexei. Her lover. Oh, how she wished to be his wife not his mistress. She wished she was allowed to feel this way. She wanted to be free to love him without hurting her husband in the process. She didn't want to kill both men every time she walked out of the door.

She finally reached her destination and stepped inside. Her house was so big. So lonely. She lay on the couch and started crying, promising herself she wouldn't do it again just as she had the previous time and the time before that. Somewhere inside her, however, she realized she would end in this position again tomorrow simply because sometimes the heart feels bigger than the brain.

A/N So here it is. It is really short and small but I hope it represents Anna's feeling after almost every meeting with Vronsky. It is inspired by the painting After the Misdeed by Jean Beraud as well as Rihanna's Unfaithful & Only Girl.
