A/N: After four long years, I decided to update this story. I stopped updating 3 years ago after Chapter 4. So the real update is Chapter 5. But I had to rewrite most of it to match my current writing style which is why I suggest and appreciate if you would read it again and tell me how it was improved or whatever. I also changed some of the details but it's basically the same plot. Enjoy! Please leave your comments to tell me what you think. And continue supporting the story! Thank you!
Disclaimer: I DON'T OWN YAMATO NADESHIKO. I wish I do though.
I have rewrote this with them 3 years older. They are now senior college students (and more mature than they are now (in the manga) –based on how I think they will be when they mature nonetheless.)
Chapter 1: Indefinite
Indefinite
It was a cold morning to start the day with. And Kyohei was awoken by that. Shivering, he stood up and somehow managed to wipe off the fog that covers his vision of the white view outside the glass windows.
Soon enough, he was lazily walking downstairs to eat breakfast... and oh, to greet his friends too, of course.
It was the first day Christmas vacation and it has been almost 2 weeks since it started snowing. He doesn't like going out lately because it's a hassle to put on many layers of clothing to keep the cold away.
He went straight to the kitchen. When he realized no one and nothing could be found in the kitchen, he wondered where the others are at. It's not like it's still early in the morning, and they are light sleepers compared to him, they must have been awoken by the cold by now… well, unless, "I am alone?" sounding more like a question to himself. He went back to the living room to double check, no one's in sight. He silently hoped for a chance that they are still sleeping, until he spaced out in random thoughts. After a moment of deafening silence, and his stomach whining, he decided he has to find the others afterall. He run upstairs, probably using the last of his energy in search of his housemates. He intends to spare Sunako's room of the rampage, knowing for a fact that Sunako has stayed at Tamao's, but he still checked just in case. But nothing.
In defeat, he lazily let his body drape on the sofa. He whined aloud at first but eventually realized that he's just tiring himself all the more, better yet, save it for later when people get back.
He thought of going to the convenience store but remembered how broke he is and the cold is not very much inviting either. So he stayed helpless, eyes on the ceiling, arms hanging freely at the seat edge and feet over the arm rest. Slowly, he fell asleep.
'Ohayo Kyohei!' (Good morning Kyohei!) Yuki greeted, smiling.
Kyohei who have unconsciously fallen asleep on the sofa sat up while rubbing his eyes, gentle as he may seem… but before he could do anything else, his stomach grumbled. So instead of saying good morning to Yuki, he was as if turned into a monster, "WHERETHEHELLWEREYOU!? YOU WERE'NT IN YOUR ROOMS AND I WAS SO-"he was cut off by his complaining stomach, "hungry?" Yuki continued for him.
"Here," said Yuki as he handed his friend a bag.
Kyohei unquestionably accepted the bag and immediately rummaged through its contents, stuffing them in his mouth almost immediately.
Yuki could only stare at him in confusion and amazement; his face could tell what he was thinking, 'Kyohei is not human. Is he?'
When done eating, he was back to his previous lazy sitting position, saying a loud "Thank you for the food!" (as in 'gochisousama deshita').
"You're welcome!" Ranmaru sarcastically answered even though he knows that it was not addressed to them "You're welcome Kyohei," he repeated, now with more emphasis.
"Oh! Yeah right! Thanks for the food guys!" realizing what Ranmaru is getting at. "Anyway, where did you guys go? I was looking for you but you were nowhere to be found."
"I was about to explain it you a while ago but you seemed really hungry so I lost the chance," Yuki started.
"We went to the convenience store to buy food," Takenaga continued explaining.
"And thanks to me, you had your share," Ranmaru concluded, "and oh! Before I forget, you owe me 500yen for the food you ate,"
"EH?! There is no way I'm gonna pay for that amount!" Kyohei immediately retorted.
"Why you!" Ranmaru shouted while drawing near the ungrateful lousy lad, "then spit all those food out!" he exclaimed as he was trying to choke his friend.
"No one told you to buy me food!"
"Yah right! You can say that after finishing it all off!"
"I'm not gonna pay for it even if you choke me to death!"
"Oh really! Let me choke you to death then!"
Despite the fuss, the other two lad do not seem to mind. "What's new?" as they rolled their eyes.
"Blame your conscience! I bet it was the one who told you to buy me food!"
"I've never blamed my beautiful conscience, and I never thought I would only because of a lousy, glutton, ungrateful, loud creature of the light! Darn you! Pay me!"
"No way! Ha-ha! Besides you could always ask money whenever you want to! 500yen is nothing to you, so let it go." shouted back Kyohei. But before Ranmaru could retort, "anyway, where is she?"
"Do you mean Sunako-chan?" Yuki questioned back, finally paying attention now to the gentlemen.
"Idiot!" stated Ranmaru, "She's your girlfriend and you don't even know she stayed over her friends'! You still have a long way."
"Says who?" Kyohei of course, cried back, "I know she flee somewhere but hasn't she come back yet?"
"She probably won't come home already especially because you always treat her unkindly. My poor, poor Sunako-chan. If only you would admit it already, and give her all the love she deserves, maybe she won't have to find another guy… who will treat her like a real lady. How idiotic could you more be?" He said dramatically, narrowing his eyes on the lad.
"Stop saying idiot and stop blabbering nonsense!" he said conclusively as he sank back on the couch. As if on cue, when he raised his feet up the armrest, the doorbell sounded.
