Running after him yet again-
Why does he run?

"WAIT!"
A turn, a stop?- no, just checking to make sure I'm still here.
OF COURSE I AM!
I'm always here. For what?
Do you know what I've done for you?
Have you seen the nights I spend weeping?
Fifty thousand tears I've cried...
Screaming your name until my voice is gone.
Deceiving myself, believing you'll change.
Bleeding emotionally, sometimes physically
When the blade pierces my cracked skin.
I've told you every time that my heart is your prisoner.
I see now that it's not that you can't hear me -
It's that you won't hear me.
Every rescue a duty -
Not a desire, or product of.
You'd just as soon leave me be.
Immense waters – no, it's blood;
Sinking…going under.
You reach out -
It's your job, after all.
One more chance to play the damsel.
But no –I don't want your hand this time.
Limbs swirling, I'm breaking free;
I stand on the shore, whole.
You gape – when did I -?
This smile has no warmth.
"I'll save myself."
