(i am exploring my massive room, and jump at the sound of a knock on my open door.)
Dan: sorry.. did i startle you?
Me: barely. no offense, but you don't scare me.
Dan: but knocking does? (i glare at him) sorry. I try to be funny when I feel awkward.
Me: you're not fooling anyone. (i am bent over unloading my things into a dresser) how long are you going to stare at my butt?
Dan: (clears throat) huh.. what? why would you think that?
Me: because your a man, or boy based on your voice.
Dan: i will have you know..(his voice drops to a whisper)... i have already gone through puberty.
Me: then why are you whispering? I'm just kidding, I do that when I feel awkward.
Dan: ha ha. very funny.
(time passes)
(it's dinner time and i sit at the table, and look around. there are chandeliers, gold, and paintings that are as magnificent as the polished marble floors)
Me: So... hi I'm Bella.
Marucho: oh. I'm sorry where are my manners... I'm Marucho.
(marucho looks to be about 9 years old. he has blond hair, and is dressed in a blue suit.)
Me: I don't mean to be rude, but how old are you?
Marucho: I am 12 years old.
( a swarm of people flood the dining room. all at once they stop and stare at me. it felt as though hours had gone by).
A Girl: Who is she?
( that girl i later learned to be named Julie. Marucho introduced me to everyone. My cousin Alice was there.((she is from my moms side))
I hadn't seen her in months. Dinner was great. Best food I had ever eaten...).
Alice: So when are you going back to school? Winter vacation ends in about a week for me.
Me: I don't go to school. It's government stuff...
Dan: You don't have to go to school? Lucky!
Runo: Why don't you go to school?
Me: It's my dad. He wasn't exactly, how you say... human.
Alice: Well that's nice to think of your father like that!
Me: no... what I meant is... forget it... never mind.
(Marucho runs into the room)
Marucho: You guys! Naga's troops are advancing! We're under attack.
