Sam walked alone in the rain, feeling horrible. She had had a terrible day. At school, she's normally pretty smart, but she had gotten three F's and 2 D's. At lunch, Paulina and the other popular people had decided to make fun of her. She had tried to block them out, but she found it was impossible. They were like annoying flies who refused to go away. After lunch, she decided to skip out on the rest of school. As she was walking down a deserted road, a song sprung to her mind.

Where is the moment when needed the most

You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Tell me your blue skyies fade to grey

Tell me your passion's gone away

And I don't need you to carry on

Sam sighed and thought about Danny. She loved Danny, but he seemed to not know anything about how she felt. She'd known Danny for about 13 years. She remembered when they had met at the park when they were two.

Sam was along playing in a sand box. She was trying to make a big castle, but it kept on messing up. She had finally completed it when, a girl named Paulina came and knocked it over. She laughed when Sam had burst into tears. A small hand had tapped her back. She turned around and saw a short boy with black hair. His eyes were so blue she felt she could stare into them forever.

"Are you ok?" he asked.

"No. That mean girl knocked over my sand castle," she said, whimpering.

Danny smiled at her. "I'll help you build another one." She smiled back at him.

Sam smiled at the thought. The rest of the song formed in her mind.

Your standing in line just to hit a new low

Your faking a smile with the coffee to go

Tell me your life's been way off line

You're falling to pieces every time

And I don't need you to carry on

Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down

You sing a sad song just to turn it around

You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie

You work on a smile and you go for a ride

You had a bad day, the camera don't lie

You're coming back down and you really don't mind

You had a bad day... you had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holiday

The point is they laugh at what you say

And I don't need you to carry on

Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down

You sing a sad song just to turn it around

You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie

You work on a smile and you go for a ride

You had a bad day, the camera don't lie

You're coming back down and you really don't mind

You had a bad day... you had a bad day

Sometimes the system goes on the blink and the whole thing it turns out

Wrong

You might not make it back and you know that you could be well all that

Strong

And I'm not wrong

So where is the passion when you need it the most

Oh you and I

You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day, you're taking one down

You sing a sad song just to turn it around

You say you don't know, you tell me don't lie

You work on a smile and you go for a ride

You had a bad day, the camera don't lie

You're coming back down and you really don't mind

You had a bad day... you had a bad day

Sam felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Danny. Surprised, she opened her mouth wide.

Danny smiled at her. "I heard someone is having a bad day. Let me fix that," he said.

He leaned in close and kissed her.
