Look at Me
Chapter One
"If you wait too long for the perfect moment, then the perfect moment will pass you by."
Introduction.
They had always lived next door to each other & yet had always failed to notice the qualities that the other person had held. Perhaps it was because of the peer pressure to get with each other or perhaps thinking that old thought of the other not wanting to be with each other.
Nonetheless, silently in their hearts did they cringe at the sight of each other. She so scared of his rejection. She was beautiful & smart, yes. But she was also very tall and tom-boyish. Perhaps he wanted someone of higher quality. She always thought that maybe she should change. Just for him. But maybe her change might not be worth it...
And he, what did he have to offer? He was just skinny, played with action figures & couldn't even handle a ball. Everyday he looked at his friends and how they displayed the American way of being a boy & yet he couldn't do it. She deserved better. Why even bother with him?
Alas, they might have drifted if it wasn't for Micheal Kelso.
"You told me he was cute."
"No I didn't," she said, shy yet angry; trying to hide her face.
"Yeah you did. Cause I remember that you said not to mention anything in front of Eric."
Waiting.
The drive back home from their concert made them both pumped yet oh so much eager to go out and be even more rebellious. Canada. Oh how sweet of a place that would've been!
Eric couldn't help but chuckle about it until they got home.
Once everyone had departed, it was just him & her.
Their bodies were so close yet so far. Close enough to feel the heat of each other & feel the tense hidden away but far enough to not notice the urge they had to just try & spark something. Far enough to not know that she was waiting and he too.
Eager for more to discuss, he brought up his thrill of Canada to her. Instantly regretting it as soon as the words flew out of his mouth. Perhaps she didn't want to hear it...
Yet, as soon as it started was just as quickly as it ended. She was getting up to leave and he fell through his new ride and through the cement. His chance failing miserbly. What plan, he wasn't exactly sure of. All he knew was that he was falling... until she reached out & grabbed him.
She had placed a kiss on his lips, the sweetest 'just because' gift ever.
