This is now BASED on the song Misery Business by Paramore. I do not own MBAV or Paramore, or am I getting paid for this.

Misery Business

~Erica's P.O.V.~

Sarah was always so pretty.

So it was no surprise when Ethan Morgan started drooling over her.

Of course, this was only a minor set back. But did I ever have a chance? Of course I did. But less of a chance then Sarah did. Naturally a flirt, she can do anything. She's got a nice frame, and pretty hair, and long eyelashes. But she was all fake for him. Never showing her true self. I was real about everything. No lying, no tricking, no wordplay.

It's disappointing, really, knowing she could get him with her true self, but she fakes her way in.

It's also disappointing when you turn a corner in the school halls to see them making out against someones locker.

Of course, I was patient. I waited a week, then two, then three. I waited a month, then two, then three. She always batted her lashes and got whatever she wanted. But one day, Ethan had told her he was done. I smiled. It had been eight months, and I'm not holding back. I gave him two weeks to let Sarah get over him. Then I struck.

He was getting his books out of his locker, right across the hall from Sarah. She looked at him with regret, with stubborness. He just smiled and switched his books, oblivious. I walked up to him.

"I can't lie, you're the only one for me." I said, leaning on the locker next to him. He amusedly smiled at me, shutting his locker.

"I've been waiting for you to say that."

He leaned forward and kissed me, the way he never kissed her.

"Be mine?" He asked.

"Yeah." I smiled and he went to class. I looked over at Sarah - gawking at me with hate in her eyes - smirked, and shrugged.

She walked over to me, her strut full of purpose.

"Are you kidding me?" She asked.

"Don't mean to brag, but I kinda got him where I want him now."

Seventeen days later, I saw Sarah flirting with Ethan. He looked boredly over at me while she twirled her hair and batted her lashes.

I walked over and tapped her shoulder.

"Desperate much?" I said under my breath. She froze up, glared at me, and stomped away.

Ethan looked at me scoldingly. "Shouldn't you two make up?"

"Tried that already." I sighed. "She said she was past it."

Ethan scoffed. "That liar."

"Yep."

Sarah came up to me at lunch that day.

"What's your problem?" She hissed at me.

"People like you." I said casually. "The ones that just bat their eyes and got whatever they want. I'm not about to stoop so low. And Ethan deserves better."

"So, you think you're better than me? That you took him from me?"

"No, Sarah. I know I'm better than you. And I didn't take him from you. He just fell in my hands." I smirked at her speechless face.

He always smiled now. He was always happy. He said, quote unquote, "You're a dream come true."

I never wanted to rub it in Sarah's face...

But I couldn't help it.
