It didn't matter where or when, they were always seen by each other's side. With him, shoving his hands inside the pocket listening to music and her, clinging to his arm and humming a happy melody.
The most popular emo kid of all time and the craziest girl in Geckkokan high's history. Yes. They suited each other.
It was months ago when they transferred to Gekkokan High. It caused a quite big ruckus around the student body about how attractive the newcomers are. The boy looked cool, didn't speak much, handsome and good at studying. The girl was pretty, energetic, outgoing and good at cooking. And they were twin to sum it up. The Arisato twin fan club was founded right after they got in for 1 week.
And 1 week later, the club disbanded.
Why? Because the boy was too reserve that he didn't even open his mouth to reply when someone asked him some questions, always came to school with injuries on his body and the girl was a fighting maniac who sent 5 martial art club leaders to hospital after challenging them in her first week at school.
Everybody spoke ill about them. But it was fine, because they got each other.
And they got friends, too.
Who would have thought that the school's idol Yukari Takeba and ice queen Mitsuru Kirijo would often hang out with the twin that much? There were times people saw Minato opened his mouth to answered Mitsuru's questions and Hamuko trained with Yukari at her archery club. Gekkokan's golden boy seemed to be in good term with the brother and had some kind of crush with the sister.
And then someone said that he saw her kissing him in the boy's toilet. Rumors started spreading around. Some found it interesting, some were disgusted by it. But it didn't seem to matter the twin much. They still continued their routine like normal. With his hands in pocket and her clinging to his arms.
- Hey Hamuko…
- Yes?
- I'm sorry…
- Huh, why?
- I promised that we'd realize our dream together…
- Yeah?
- It seems like I won't be able to…
- You're strange. What happened?
- … Because there's something else that I must do no matter what…
- Hey…
- … to protect you all…
- What are you talking about?
- …I love you, my little sister…
- Wha…
The kiss shut her up. She closed her eyes and tasted the little sweet love that he gave. There's something vague yet very important to her that she might have forgotten. But in that moment, the whole world around her seemed to have disappeared. She couldn't think anymore.
And now she remembered everything. But it was too late.
"I love you onii-chan" she whispered into his ears before his eyes slowly closed.
