"Please don't leave me." He said, his deep red eyes glowing in the light of the torch behind him. "Aro, I love you, but I can't stay here. Not anymore." Aurora wanted to cry, as she gently placed her hand to his hand. "I can't watch the man I love stay with another women. I couldn't bare it." She pulled her hand away, as his eyes flashed a pleading look. "Sulpica is just for show. Please. Stay." He smiled, taking a handful of her dark hair gently in his hands. "She is not." Aurora snapped back. "She is the queen. Leave her. Choose me. I love you more than that woman ever could!" She kissed him quickly, before recoiling. "Please." Her eyes whispered. His face turned stern, as he glared at her. "I can't. I'm sorry." She dropped to her knees in front of him, and looked up at him. "You're Majesty." She said, as rude and angry as she could. Aro waved her away, and she rose, for the first time, turning her back on the king.
The winter wind whipped heavily through the town courtyard, as she walked towards the gates of the city. Behind her, a parade of people, of friends to see her off. But she realized, he wasn't there. Then, all of a sudden, he appeared at the head of the crowd, holding a single white rose. Aurora walked towards him, her silver gown blowing about as she did so. She knelt before him, and kissed one of his hands. He, in turn, dropped the rose to the ground in front of her, and stormed off into the crowd. So, she was left kneeling on the cobblestone, a white rose at her feet. "Sergeant Moyer." She said, addressing the captain of the guard. "We should be off." She said to him, her high heeled shoe landing swiftly on the rose's delicate pedals. She loaded herself into the carriage, and leaned her head back on the seat as the cart pulled away. Soon, she watched the large red towers disappear onto the horizon, as she silently cried, no tears running down her face. It being impossible for her to cry made it ten times worse. She hated who she was, what he made her become. She hated him, only a little less than she loved him. And god, did she love him.
