I close my eyes. Tomorrow is the most terrifying day of the year for the children of the Twelve Districts of Panem. The Reaping. A chill runs up my spine at the mere thought of seeing everyone of District Three crowded in front of the Justice building, waiting to see who's name was called out, who would represent our District in the wretched Hunger Games.

But it wasn't just any other Hunger Games. No... This was a Quarter Quell. And as such, I had guessed the Gamemakers would try to be funny with what they chose as the event this year. Naturally, I guessed correctly. They wanted to honour the very first Quarter Quell that had occured one hundred years prior. Double the Tributes, Double the Victors. Forty-eight of us would go in, but only two of us would come out. Maybe, if they didn't decide to have the two remaining fight it out in an all out brawl.

I can only hope that one of the older kids is chosen, since this is my first year even in the Reaping. I swallow. Something in the pit of my stomach says to cherish this last night in my home, with my family. I sit up, looking at my mother and father sleeping across the room. They had been lucky enough the survive the Reapings without being picked..

I look down at my little brother, who had just turned five this past year. He would hopefully never have to face being Reaped either. I pull my knees up to my chest. Maybe I would make it through too.

"Analee, honey.. You need to sleep." I look over to see my mother has woken up, though the haze in her eyes suggests she's barely awake. "You need to rest for tomorrow."

"Yes, I know," I say softly, laying my head back down. "Good night, Mom."

"Good night, baby." She answers, already falling asleep.

I close my eyes.

Maybe I won't be reaped either.

There's the prologue. If you have any ideas, have a Tribute, check out my profile or PM me. I'll put the list on my Profile as spots are filled.
