A New Kind of Friendship-One Shot

Katie Matlin smiles to herself as she unlocks the bathroom door of the girl's restroom at the dot as she waits for her best friend Marisol to show up while she just got finished purging also she finds the bathroom isn't empty like it was when she first came in at one of the sinks stood a tall skinny blonde looking at herself in the mirror as Katie comes up to another sink next to the other girl
"Here" The blonde says handing Katie a mint while still looking in the mirror
"Thanks I guess" Katie says popping the mint inside her mouth
"No problem your gonna need it" She says looking towards Katie before speaking again
"So does your friend know?"
"Yeah she does but she doesn't understand" Katie says as she sighs
"No one understands people like us that's why we have to stick together I'm Emma by the way" She says smiling and holding out her hand
"Katie" Katie says replying back shyly smiling after shaking the girl's hand
"So how long has yours been going on?"
"5 months"
"Oh 2 year so far for me it's on and off right now though" Emma says looking down
"Oh"
"Yeah everyone thinks that I've stopped but I've really just gotten better at lying" Emma admits
"Yeah and it's like people always expect so much from you-
"That you have to be in control of something" Emma says finishing Katie's sentence
"Exactly" Katie says as they both smile and laugh a little bit
"So does your boyfriend know?"
"Nope as far as I know he thinks it's a silly rumor I'm not sure what he would do if he found out though" Katie says unsure
"Yeah it worked out for me with my ex-boyfriend but you can't do things to make people be suspicious or else you're in huge trouble"
"Okay what are you an expert on these things?" Katie questions while laughing
"Just think of me as your mentor or guide" Emma says also laughing
"Okay then"
"I think this could be the start of a great friendship" Emma says as the girls exit the restroom and sit down and have sodas together and talk about their problems who cares about Marisol what Katie needs is someone that understands her and no one does like Emma Nelson
