"When the world ends, paradise will appear somewhere in the world, and a heavy rain will melt away the frozen soil… but only the wolves know how to find paradise."

"I think… this could be the end of the world."

He can't see her.

Not with his eyes, at least. But he can see her in his mind, he can see tears streaming down her face – and now, they are one and the same, both blind to the outside, but both knowing of what fate would bring.

He could hear the clang of soldiers about them – but it was okay. They were together, and they would stand so until the end, she holding on to him tightly.

He could hear the nobles' ships overhead, and he heard Cheza singing, and so was Hige, and Toboe, and Tsume. And he, too, started to sing.

The nobles fired their lasers, but their song continued.

For it was the song to open paradise.

"Meanwhile, nearby… stood the chosen… wolves. At that moment… the cloud of darkness… was torn apart… by countless arrows of crimson light.

It almost looked like…

Rain."

End---------

Okkkkkay. As an explanation, this drabble is based on the ending of the Wolf's Rain manga, NOT the anime. The quotes in the story are also from the manga. The second quote was the last we saw of Kiba and all, so yeah.

I find it slightly ironic that my other fic had Kiba grateful for his eyes, and now, in this fic, he's blind.

Okay, bye.
